Why are you voting for Christina?

For starters, I work closely with her on a commission and have watched her work these last couple years. Here’s why I personally am a fan:

1.) Only candidate (to my knowledge) with a masters in education.
2.) She’s been a teacher in the toughest of circumstances, and she gets it. She will always be mindful of how decisions impact our teachers and students.
3.) Worked to shape federal education policy and deeply understands the bureaucratic restraints we face.
4.) Already advises school boards in challenging situations across the country.
5.) I’m impressed with how she has contributed in the short time she’s been in the community and think it’s a sign of what more she will do in the near future. 6.) She not only reviews the school budget but also reviews the count’s massive budget.
7.) Offers a fresh but grounded (and informed) approach to the operation of school board work.

I feel like I'm reading one of those amazon reviews that's clearly written by the company. "At first I was skeptical, but WOW! So convenient! Functional AND attractive!"

I short, we’d highly recommend it!

I assumed she had a new job. She doesn’t? That’s not going to be good.

DP here - she does have a new job. She no longer works for the federal government.

She taught high school math when she was straight out of college, no training other than a few weeks of TFA survival mode cheerleading. I believe her master's is in educational leadership, which is to say she doesn't know how to do but still thinks people should listen to her.

Is he running as an independent? I think the ACDC filing deadline has passed. The only thing I am aware of him doing schools related is starting a stupid change.org petition to try and stop Key from moving. So that's a hard pass from me.

He's great. I might be outing myself, but my family has known his for years. He's a really nice individual, and its nice to see someone from the eastern side of the county throw their name in.
He was really involved in the original keep key on key movement back in 2018, but hasn't been very outspoken in the past two years. I think that says a lot -- he understands that the best solution for the county might not be the best one for his family, and is willing to put that aside.

I'm a different poster- but I think its sort of like saying "I'm going to cut waste, fraud, and abuse." No one is against that- no one is against equity or leveraging the data. But what does that mean? What are you actually proposing?

Re: no one else at at PTA meetings, you do know that Dave Priddy is the current PTA President of TJMS?

Priddy, as a brand new candidate, got about 800 votes last time. That's quite good.

People's criticism of him was that he didn't have enough experience, so he's spent the last year gaining more experience. Being on commissions, going to meetings, getting more up to speed.

True he's not out there yelling at people, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing.

Great. There’s a board seat up often. Cristina should put in another 18 months of residency and convince all the naysayers that she’s not Katie’s pet and aiming for bigger things.
