Did you just bump this thread because it was linked (by me) at 22:56 in this thread?, lol

This is all time DCUM classic and it should probably get bumped every October just on principle.

Yes. 😂 I don’t know how I missed this thread the first time around but thank you so much for mentioning it. Sometimes it’s the little things.

What a classic thread. And what a certifiable OP.

This whole thread is insane and 100% why I keep going back to DCUM every time I try to quit.

Why are you all so put out by Booing? And why are adults involved in this at all? Also the signs do nothing to deter the boos. We have been booed 4 times so far. All Boo signs are still hanging on our doors. I have no idea what is in those Boo bags. I have no idea what my kids put in their Boo bags or who they Boo. I don't care. If kids want to exchange crap for Halloween what difference does it make to me?

Do you all hate living in neighborhoods? Does it burn in your soul when kids find fun things to do?

The OP is hilarious. And implicitly answers most of your questions. Normal adults hate Booing because usually the parents who orchestrate it are crazy, like OP. If it was just do it and forget it, no big deal. But we first got Booed when my oldest was newborn and home from the NICU for like a week. No one was sleeping and he had colic. I would zombie walking around the neighborhood and Marge would be like "Oh, yeah, hey! Are you out Booing? Because I see your house has been Booed but then it didn't look like you'd done it back yet. Oh, you're not? You're not doing it? Oh, well, OK, I mean, someone left candy for you but if you don't want to participate ok. I mean, it's for the kids but if you don't want to give candy to the kids that gave candy to you that's ok I guess. I mean you could take the baby with you to the store, right, hahahaha, you have a car seat, right, hahaha"

It was a blessing when the queen bee neighbors moved out and no one ever booed again. The end.

Knock wood, we’ve yet to be 👻 this year. I like the idea of a prophylactic sign. Don’t feel like buying goodie bags in July jic.

She was packing up her car on Friday, and I asked if she needed me to look out for packages or anything. She said no thank you, just a short trip, got it covered, etc.

I was walking our dog later and noticed that they had put up a "We've Been Boo-ed" sign that was definitely not there when they were packing up. My boys and I usually do the first "Boos" of the season, and always get their house, because their girls are so nice and cute.

I get that they don't want to participate, but she could have said something or posted a sign that was like "please don't Boo us"; they definitely were not Booed, because no other house on our street that has kids has the sign up! I'm just bummed. It's not like I would have left it on their porch all weekend, knowing they were gone.

OMG…..get a life.

Thank you, that's good perspective. This must be the case. I just don't get why she wouldn't tell me when we saw each other. I would have been happy to wait another weekend or so, etc. It's fine, obviously, it's just my kids were disappointed when I said we couldn't Boo their friends' house.

Maybe she just has more going on in her life and this Boo nonsense is not top of mind I'm every conversation?

That's the stuff that kids LOVE!

Of course. Have you ever been on instagram? Going to the pumpkin patch is mandatory for anyone with an instagram account, as far as I can tell

Obligatory annual bump of this thread. IMO, an all time DCUM classic.

Nothing more to see here.

How do you escalate a Boo, is what I want to know? Start hiding in their basement and pelting them with candy when they're doing the laundry? Leave a rotten pumpkin in their bed? Dress as a ghost and float by their windows every night at 10:17 exactly?

Thank you for your service. I somehow missed this thread the first time around, and when it popped up this year, I realized I hadn't put up my "We've been boo'd" sign. But it looks as though we're safe anyway.
