His trust. In early seasons he also mentioned having property that he rents out. Thomas said once he has “mailbox money” because rents coming in the mail.

I believe Shep has his MBA from Vanderbilt... not that’s he done anything with that degree.

Interesting. He says he sold real estate in Dubai? https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/shep-rose-discusses-his-familys-money

And I forgot he co-owns a few bars. https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/what-does-southern-charms-shep-rose-do-for-a-living

Craig - not sure why I really want to root for him and his dang pillows. I’m glad he’s finally starting to accept he’s the artsy type, not the jock stereotype people around him except him to be.

Cameron & Naomi - PP’s sorority girl comment above is spot on. And good luck with Metul, he’s ridiculously tightly wound. But then, Naomi said he was born in DC so that explains some of it.

Kathryn - I like her, I wish she’d sober up not just for herself but for the sake of her kids. I have a feeling she’ll come through it though.

I'm surprised no one goes for the jugular with Shep and his snotty entitled attitude and lack of work ethic especially since he is most likely the family slacker. His father was an attorney. Both of his siblings are attorneys and he, well, what is he? A on a reality show (I hesitate to call him a "star") who chases after women half his age in bars. Academically, Craig accomplished what he has not, but his siblings have.

Yes, he has his MBA from Vandy, and has done absolutely nothing with his degree.

How do you know?

I agree with the question above.
How can assume someone with a degree hasn’t used it?
I would assume he is using an advanced business degree when buying / selling : investing and making other business decisions.

He may have been an “ investor” in those bars but that doesn’t mean he works or even co owns. Writing a check for 30k from your parents trust fund to invest in a friends bar is not working. Does he make any day to day decisions or have to manage anything? Spending other people’s moneybis not working. He is a loser.

Do you know him personally? How do you know he doesn’t have anything to do with them besides ownership? The article calls him a co-owner and that is how he referred to himself when he was filmed in the bars a few years ago. Who are you to claim he doesn’t have an ownership stake?

Different poster: He never talks about doing work. In fact, a few seasons ago when Craig bemoaned the fact that he doesn’t have as much money and has to work, Shep never said he worked. Likewise, if he sold real estate in Dubai, what was the dumb act he put on “trailing” Cameron to learn he ropes? He likely has invested money given to him and has the money from the show and that’s what he is living off of. He does seem unmotivated to be anything else but a partying player.

Shep has come to the realization that he has no real purpose in life. He doesn't work, no wife, no kids. Sounds awesome when you're in your 20s and living it up, but he's approaching 40 and is deeply unsatisfied with his life. Hence the anger and defensiveness.

During the reunion he tried to make a point by saying "none of this matters, we don't matter, we're just a grain of sand in this vast universe" blah blah blah. He sounds like someone desperately trying to convince himself and others that having a purpose in life and/or working towards a goal is futile and pointless.

Yes! This is correct. There is a lot of unchecked anger in shep and it’s totally of his own making.

Then why does he get so triggered when Madison talks to him?

I wonder if his brother and sister who have jobs and have a trust fund go on about it and their upbringing, call people trash and say if you think I am bad you should meet my other friends who live in a wealthy area. Shep has always been a d-bag.
