June has decided to harden herself to play the long game rather than fly off the handle and lose everything. |
| The scene where Commander Winslow and Fred are playing pool, and Winslow’s ass is literally in Fred’s face is priceless. Hope Fred will get anal-ized without lube. |
Lol. I thought the same thing. |
| Nick’s story arc makes NO sense. In season 1 and 2 we learn that he is an Eye planted by Fred’s superior to keep an eye on Fred. Before the revolution he was aimless and that superior (do not recall the name) offered him a chance at purpose, they met at a job fair or employment office. Now they are trying to sell us that Nick was some hot shot general who was planted as a “driver”?Improbable. |
It could be that we are missing the story between those two events. He’s a nobody that gets offered a chance to be someone - enter war - rises through the ranks etc and winds up as an eye at Fred’s house. |
+1 |
I could see this. I could also see him being swept along and suddenly being over his head when he has a chance to actually see the big picture of the events. How many of service people really know the politics or end game of a war before they get shipped there. Just like seeing the ringed mouthed and face masks of the handmaiden this week, it gets incrementally worse and then it’s hard/impossible to speak out without simply ending up on the wall as another nonbeliever |
I guess they could come up with something like he was a big wig then demoted and to save himself he became an eye/chauffeur in Fred’s house. But then it contradicts everything else, him hiding that stack of letters from hand maids, him trying to get June out not once but twice, and everything else that happened in the previous 2 seasons. I will buy that he got scared, disinterested, recommitted to the cause, but starting a new story thread about his alleged importance to the revolution, just does not pass the smell test. |
LOL - He's not a Canadian diplomat - he's an American intelligence officer operating in Canada. He was trying to recruit her in the Canada episode in the previous season. |
I got the distinct impression that the issue with him was human rights abuses. Like, a lot of killing. |
| Why is June the only Handmaid who gets to wear a red sweatshirt? It’s like her business casual look. |
Ha. I've wondered this as well. It's pretty schlubby and I was really surprised she wore that to the christening and party at the Commander's house. |
|
Wait, when did I miss this?
So Nick is not a commander, I saw the "wedding" ( I do not even know what to call that) Anyway, so he will have his own handmaid? Re jog my memory .. please |
Would he need a handmaid? He seems to be one of the few men who is not infertile. |
I'll he'd have to do is dangle a baby in front of her and bam, she'd move to Canada. Honestly. Here is baby Nicole, now move to Canada and tell us secrets. |
