Best concert you ever went to as an adult?

I agree. There is another thread about not understanding the appeal of concerts? Go figure.

John Cougar Mellencamp at Jones Beach Theater, NY in the late 90s. It was a gorgeous August night and we sang and danced to every song. I didn't want to go but it was a friends bday and she had gotten tickets. Amazing memory.

Dylan opened for the Dead in I think 94? Saw it at Giants stadium in NJ. Dylan was awful.

Ben’s voice was poetic, band was spot-on even after adding a new guitarist, the lighting and special effects - modern and exciting. He commanded the room evident when he sang “I will follow you into the dark” solo.

I agree that Gibbard was amazing but the crowd was pretty quiet compared to other concerts I’ve seen. “ I will follow you into the dark” was full audience participation near the end. Great show in my book. I’ll have to get “excellent seats” next time!

My all time favorite was Celine Dion, just amazing. A close second and don't judge is Justin Beiber, he is not only talented but put on a great show.

Beach boys a few summers ago with Brian Wilson and B-52s at the zoo with our kids. They loved it and got to play on the hill too!

Best concert experience for me was Springsteen at the Verizon Center. I'd love to see U2 at a small venue.

I was really disappointed with the Zac Brown Band at Jiffy Lube last year. No energy and just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. I had thought it would be a great concert.

I'm so disappointed to hear this. Hopefully ZBB is better in a smaller venue (although how they sellout stadium tours all over, I don't know). The Patriot Center event has other artists as well. Including Keith Urban--who always looks like he's giving 110% to his concert audience. Hoping for a fun night.

Sorry I just wrote about this but responding. I see ZBB every year, have for about 7 or 8 years now I guess, maybe 9. I have to say last year's at Jiffy Lube was probably the most "eh" I've ever been about a show. They were still good, but just not their usual. Their show at Nats park the summer before was Ah-ma-zing. Chills.

I am so excited for that Joe Walsh benefit concert, I haven't see them in a venue that small in a minute.

I saw Zach Brown Band at Nationals Park this past summer and thought they were amazing. I wasn’t a big fan before but I am now.

Garth Brooks puts on an awesome concert. Last one was over 3 hours. And I’m not a big country fan.

I saw John Cougar Mellencamp at Merriweather around 1992. He was the best concert I’ve been to. He was extremely personable and played to the crowd.

Sting, hands down. This was years ago at what was then the MCI Center. The opening act (Jill somebody?) got sick and couldn't sing, so he came out early (in a tux! Straight from some dinner) and sang some songs with just his guitar. There's nothing like Englishman in New York acoustic and with a stadium full of people singing too.

I was 16 so not quite an adult. April 1977 Led Zeppelin at the Chicago stadium (now United Center). Four night stand and I went all four nights. I was obsessed. Still am!

I’m 22:59 again. I have friends who like country and like to go to Jiffy Lube so I’ve been going. I saw ZBB there in 2016 and 2017. My DH really did not enjoy it, lol. I thought it was fine. I thought Florida Georgia Line was very good - I would see them again!

Pretty much every U2 concert I have been to

Saw Joan Osborne before she was famous at a regional no name music festival. Lou Reed was the headliner. He played his set and then called her out to sing with him. It was awesome.

Fast foward to this year, where Joan Osborne will be singing Bob Dylan songs scheduled for an upcoming show at The City winery

Keith Urban puts on a great show. He also has a knack for picking great openers:
Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift.
