Oh honey, I have been a culture vulture since I saw my first ballent with Dame Margot Fonteyn. There are many definitions of culture vulture, and one applies to me and others apply to your sort. I chose to use one that I prefer and you may use the one that is in the muck with you. |
Well put. I agree. |
MoCo is going bankrupt? I live in Rockville, and they have money. We got all new sidewalks; lots of immigrants around me who are professionals. |
eh Money can be earmarked from years/months ago. That doesn't mean Mo Co is rolling in the dough as it was once in the past. born and raised here Schools are falling apart. That's when you first see the impact. Young teachers in highly impacted schools (and this list is growing) continue to leave. Some try to find their "happy place" before saying ciao for good. very sad roads? lol Let's look at the FARMs rate at Wheaton Woods ES - over 80% on free/reduced meals. Ever FARMs is almost 88%. ESOL is at 46%. Tell me how we prevent burnout with these statistics. |

As a white person, I'm not super concerned. I think over time, races will become more mixed and the distinction between white and current minorities will not matter so much. Children of immigrants tend to assimilate more each generation so there will be a blending of cultures.
Also, we live in a diverse area. I'm totally aware of the fact my children very well may marry someone non-white and that I may have mixed race grandchildren. I'm not sure why I should feel threatened by this or care if white people hold the wealth? I think people who cling to the way things were (e.g. my late grandmother who could never get over "coloreds" going to schools with whites) just become bitter and society marches on any way. So why not embrace the change? |
How does this prove that MoCo is going bankrupt? You think roads in places that have zero illegal immigrants are perfect? lol. |
So, according to you, everyone who is on FARMS and in ESOL is an illegal immigrant. My neighbor's child is a legal immigrants and is in ESOL. Another child I know who is an American but has a parent who speaks a foreign language (and legal immigrant) was put in ESOL because they speak a foreign language at home. If you check out places like WV, majority of kids are probably FARMS kids, and they are all "real" white Americans. |

Actually- asians have always traditionally been republican but they are also smart & have seen both libertarianism and socialism in action in their own home cultures- don't like either, also have historically suffered from colonialism and displacement so are more sympathetic to the "obama" camp of democrats currently in power- as in most asians are centrists, some leaning a bit left and some leaning a bit right but most accept that climate change is happening and is an economic opportunity and are also very frustrated by the lack of progress being made in infrastructure etc but have zero interest in LGBTQ/identity politics shit, are very interested in maintaining good public education though b/c most asians hate the idea of paying for public schools they can't use. The chinese and Japanese who've been here for decades are not interested in the whites only bullshit that is taking over the Republican party- i speak from grassroots exp- my whole extended network of 2 generation, friends with kissinger and nixon asian family and friends, some of whom voted for mccain & romney are totally disgusted with trump /ryan/mcconnel and either voted for hillary or no-one and all have stopped donations and unsubscribed from republican sites. There is a lot of internal conversation for the first time acknowledging that asians have benefitted from the civil rights movement. Aisan are also mostly recent immigrants & interested in being global citizens & cosmopolitan in outlook- thats why they are wealthy, they get up and move to where the $$ is so if economic opportunity in america declines most will not hesitate to jump ship. my family lived in the same country for 600 years- in the past century no generation has lived in the same country as the one before it- i love the idea of america spelled out by the founders, not steve fucking bannon's, if abetter opportunity comes along- i'll move without hesitation but it hasn't happened yet- the us is still the best place Are you actually involved in politics, or are you just regurgitating what you read on a blog? Because if you were involved on the grassroots level, you would know that the republicans have shored up the Asians. They just aren't loud about it. We are hoping that it might change, due to the disdain that the current administration has for immigration, but that is to be seen. |
There are millions of w americans who do not want this. |
Unfortunately, with the browning of America, rap, chicken and waffles, tortillas, salsa music and Cuban cigars will only become even more pervasive. |
Seriously? Whites will not be the minority. OP go back to school. |
