I have no idea whether his firing was warranted or not. I do know that the Deputy AG, Rod Rosenstein, who recommended his firing is someone who is respected by both Democrats and Republicans and was confirmed to the position by a vote of 94-6!

You are taking at face value that the firing was recommended by Rosenstein, and not simply ordered by Trump.

I seriously doubt that a person of Rosenstein's reputation and integrity would allow a misleading statement like the one below to remain unchallenged if it was not accurate.
