Was Azan in it for the green card, though? He seems to love everything about Morocco and his culture, so was he really seeking to move?

I'm wondering this as well! Do you think he wants Nicole to move to Morocco permanently? I don't think he really loves her.

This is normal in Russia. Even among college-educated women, it is considered fine--if not ideal--for a girl to lock down a good marriage very young. An Eastern European woman should be married before late 20s: single women of 30+ are considered garbage, unfortunately. Alla, for example, would be looked upon with pity, and would not be able to date even an average man. I live in Eastern Europe.

Yes, but in Anfisa's case, who had some kind of internet fame, getting married to settle down is definitely not the goal.
She smart but quite immature. She wants to be a model, be on billboards, as she said. Who knows what Jorge promised her off cameras.

As she said in yesterday's episode, the camera is portraying her to be this bad person but no one is videotaping what he is doing to make her act crazy.
So now, his bank account is frozen. He also said she went and bought 2 expensive bags, in two different stores, in cash.

And I really don't buy it when he insisted that he gave her $5000 cash so that she would fly first class to Russia. If he really wanted her to go, he would have bought her ticket online and printed out a receipt.
And the apartment he got, seems to be in a very remote place where there's nothing to do. She said she wanted to live in a place closer to LA.

And those sisters he has? They all seem to be so much older than him. Not sure but Jorge seems to be the real scammer ...

So what if they're older? I'm not quite getting your point here.

I saw the "I love Morocco" thing as "See, I really do love my culture and country, I would NEVER want to leave... okay, maybe for love." No way he's really into Nicole. I can't figure him out. I really wanted to like him, and Nicole was so off-putting, the way way she constantly interrupted him when he was trying to explain cultural differences and his level of comfort. But he went ahead with the proposal when he didn't have to, and social media suggests they are still technically together.

NP here, but I took as it could mean several things...

-Jorge is 26, and his sisters look to be in their 40s, which, in itself, is unusual.
-does that mean that they babied or bullied him when he was little, and that's why he's incapable of standing up for himself or making decisions?
-are they even really his sisters?
-does Jorge have a "I must get married now!" mindset because his older sisters are all married?
-Jorge's sisters being so much older also minimizes the possibility of Anfisa buddying up with them. Matt was able to offer Alla some girlfriends in the form of his brothers'/friends' significant others. Jorge has nobody for Anfisa to play with.

Just a few thoughts.

I wonder if he could be using her as a screen to cover up a real relationship of which his culture would not approve.

I think a lot of people had the same thought about Azan, PP.

I could see that perspective. Though, I don't think that makes him a "scammer" as PP stated. But definitely another big reason why he lets Anfisa boss him around and he seemingly has no backbone. Other than his sisters, I also don't remember him filming with any friends.

Embarassingly I just finished watching this (not quite done with the tell all) and wanted to add thoughts:

- Matt/All: I too think Patrick was a plant. he had no reason to dislike Alla that much, and he never really could articulate what the issue was. I agree that Alla is, though a little cold by nature, one of the most genuine people on the show ever and this could actually work. Not sure why PP thinks her accent is weird - her sister had the same one.

- Chantal/Pedro - whatever. They're boring. Who knows if they will stay together (they can barely communicate anyway).

- Nicole/Azan - I don't get them AT ALL. like others said -he doesn't even seem to WANT to come to America, so why is he with her? Sometimes he seems to genuinely care about her and sometimes he seems disgusted by her. She's so stupid that I sort of feel bad for her, but who knows what this whole thing is about anyway.

- Jorge/Anfisa - I agree Anfisa is awesome to watch because she just doesn't give a crap. Of course she's ridiculously obnoxious but I do think he lied to her at the beginning and then expects her to just put up with whatever the truth is without acknowledging that he promised her something totally different. I don't get what's with the sisters, either. They look nothing like him and are much older.... ??

See, I agree, and that's why I cut Anfisa so much slack (and I think the outrageous behavior like the keying and locking him out, was suggested/set up by the producers, or cooked up with Jorge in on it). He flashed his money and took her on exotic vacations. That's how they spent their time together, not with her visiting the US and him going to Russia, with each of them seeing the real condition of the other's environment. She was willing to be the eye candy if he was willing to spoil her with money and romance. Instead, he didn't seem to have as much money as he claimed, and he was totally absent in the romance department. She may not have been a good housekeeper, but I would believe it if she assumed he would hire a cleaning person to take care of that. Most people with plenty of money do. He didn't bring a car big enough for her luggage to the airport when he picked her up. She expected a place to live, and he had her in a hotel. After she said she wanted an apartment (a reasonable request, imo), he took forever to accomplish that task. Even for their wedding, he was "too busy" with work to clean out the stuff in his vehicle for their drive to the courthouse, nor did he think ahead to rent something special. That lack of thoughtfulness is really off-putting. I can see why he has been unsuccessful with women.

Pedro = I like him. He said many times to Chantel that he wanted to tell her parents the truth. He was actually quite honorable about it. I think they make a good couple, both are equally attractive.

I like Pedro's mother. She was having none of that prenup shit. I read that she is a lawyer or doctor or some kind of higher-ranking professional in the DR, so she's not putting up with this "Pedro is a poor immigrant who's in it for a green card" nonsense. I do think the two of them were the best match--same age, same immaturity, etc. Like Loren and Alexei, they just happened to fall for each other while being from different countries. Neither one sought out a foreign partner.

They said they had no hot water sometimes where he lived. If she was a high ranking official where they are from then they would probably have hot water.

Have you ever been overseas to a developing country? You can stay in the most luxurious hotel and the hot water and/or electricity can go out at times. The fact that they even had regular access to running water proves that he's at least middle class.

Anyone else still watching this? I just want to shake George and tell him to drop Anfisa! She is so awful to him!

Omg, I will be an Anfisa defender till death. She is the realest person to ever be on a reality show. She should go hook up with Simon from Teen Mom. She has been straight up with Jorge the whole time and he has dropped the ball every chance he's had. And he's so dim about it.

They had a clear mutual understanding--he gets arm candy (I'm beginning to see that his difficulty with American women is probably not just related to his size) and she gets to live a rich lifestyle in America. She held up her end, and he is slowly revealing that he pretty much lied about everything. She's smart to try to get a post nup to avoid being responsible for his debt. But then he acts all offended because all she cares about is money. Yes, Jorge. If you listened to her, you would know that.

Totally agree with you.
I love how she she only smiles at people she likes, instead of putting on a fake smile.
And buying $250 of clothes is no biggie.
Now that she is on TV, she might land some modeling gigs.

Santo Domingo is very hot and very humid and the shower water is never really cold. So no need for hot water and many apartments have heaters which are on for a few hours a day. I had hot water but preferred to take cold showers a few times a day.
