I like Pedro's mother.  She was having none of that prenup shit.  I read that she is a lawyer or doctor or some kind of higher-ranking professional in the DR, so she's not putting up with this "Pedro is a poor immigrant who's in it for a green card" nonsense.  I do think the two of them were the best match--same age, same immaturity, etc.  Like Loren and Alexei, they just happened to fall for each other while being from different countries.  Neither one sought out a foreign partner.[/quote]

Santo Domingo is very hot and very humid and the shower water is never really cold. So no need for hot water and many apartments have heaters which are on for a few hours a day. I had hot water but preferred to take cold showers a few times a day.[/quote]
