Megan is planning to leave Don? She doesn't seem to want him back in CA and she is packing up her NY life.

Wonder if Pete will come back to NY? Maybe time for another new agency, Pete, Don, Roger, and Peggy in CA?

Why was Joan so against Harry Crane becoming a partner? Doesn't it make sense? Was there some tension from when Joan slept with the car guy?

Perhaps you need to invest in a history book. The year that this season is taking place is 1969. JFK was assassinated in 1963; RFK in 1968. There was no Kennedy assassination in 1969. Don was looking a newspaper that Megan had either saved or found in the closet as she was going through its contents to "pack up her life."

Oh, that makes sense. I forgot they were in 1969. I kept falling asleep during the show (not the show's fault, all mine) pretty sure I got some other things out of context.

Loved the scene with Peggy and Don dancing in the office! I wondered for a moment if there would be a kiss! I hope they can mend their relationship.

The final scene in the restaurant was lovely. I liked that Pete, Peggy and Don have all returned to each other as family after having each their own disastrous family lives.

Does Pete want Trudy back or is he just jealous? I would love to see more Trudy!

Small detail but is Clara (Ken's secretary) pregnant? Her dress was huge in front.

Pete is just all-around fucked up when it comes to love, relationships and happiness. He realized how empty his life was and decided to try to pull her down into his pathetic existence.

Yes, she looked very pregnant!

"In last night’s episode, we also see that Stephanie is 7 months pregnant, and she mentions to Megan that the father is a musician she met in the Bay Area who spent some time in jail. This describes Charles Manson (a musician who lived in the Bay Area who was arrested in 1968 for possession) perfectly. http://uproxx.com/tv/2014/05/matthew-weiner-is-still-trolling-mad-men-theorists-with-even-more-charles-manson-allusions/ "

this is my favorite thing about this show lately, the Sharon Tate stuff... Stephanie said initially that she was about 7 mos and then at Megan's she said something like she only had a month or so to go... Sharon was 8.5 mos when murdered.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but on one episode this season the scene cut from Megan's place to the offices where Peggy was holding a can of Folger's/making coffee... heiress Abigail Folger was another one of the murdered people at Sharon Tate's house.

I LOVE THIS THEORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I have to say, Peggy's story has had me engrossed all season and I was so pleased that it went in the direction that it did tonight. Of course, now that we're up to the mid season finale, no doubt all the pieces will get jumbled around again.

I think she showed up in a good faith effort to try to make it work, but realized she isn't happy in NY and Don isn't happy in LA, so she suggested they "meet somewhere away from all the distractions" as a last ditch effort to save their marriage. However, it is clear to me that the marriage is over. She was VERY happy on the plane ride home.

They are donesies.

EWWWWW!!!!!!! No way! He is like a father to her and she is the closest thing he has to family, other than Stephanie.

They have a father/daughter relationshop for sure. Her head on his shoulder was not sexual.

Trying to redeem myself from the Kennedy assassination comment . Betty told Don she wanted a divorce when JFK was killed.

Yes, that was in one of the reviews I posted: http://tomandlorenzo.com/2014/05/mad-men-the-strategy/

"Speaking of being done with each other, Megan’s packing up her fondue pot and there’s no way in hell that’s a good sign. As she tears through the closets in the apartment looking for the things she keeps saying she misses, Don finds himself staring at an old newspaper announcing the Kennedy assassination, the exact weekend his previous marriage came to an end; the last time he felt like he does now: defeated, depressed, and desperately trying to hold on to something without knowing why or whether he should. History repeating. Megan sipping that glass of wine as she flew back to L.A. looked more content than she has all season."

Nice recap, do they have that for each episode? off to look. I'd like one to cover the merger/creation of the new agency.

Not only that, they do a "Mad Style" post on wednesdays that analyzes the clothing and how it supports the story. If you ever have a few hours to kill, the archives make great reading.
