From my HS friends group, the only guys that never married are tall. |
The only thing that really matters for men is confidence. |
I agree that there some socially-sanctioned disparaging of short men coming from women these days. It is part of the misandry zeitgeist.
But, whatever. One of my kids is 5'7" on a good day and is badass (sociable, smart, athletic etc) and has a gorgeous gf. |
Agree: here is the socially-sanctioned disparaging of short men on display; although it is called out in this rare instance. Notice: “short-man-energy” and how it initially prompts laughter and joy from the women: |
Short men are simply akin to ugly women. Everyone has physical preferences. |
My DS15 is currently 5’8” so I’ve been looking around at guys’ heights (DH is 6’4”). And the short guys are doing totally fine. They appear to be married in abundance, cute wives, kids, employed, etc.
Yes, he wishes to be 5’11” but he’s going to be perfectly fine if he’s done growing. |
Guy here: I’d never treat a short guy disrespectfully in any way. Though I think I did micro-agress an LP at work on accident. |
I was never cruel, but I am also ugly so short men don’t give shit about my niceness. They want the pretty women to pay attention to them and not be cruel. |
They deserve it. Short men should not be allowed to procreate. |
Sounds like a short guy took your girl. Sorry mate. |
I married a shorter guy than me (I'm 5'10"). Things like height become less important after you've dated a few tall guys who think they are God's gift to women. |
Why are short men cruel to me?
My ex was 5'7" and abusive. |
My kids go to a high end NYC private school (on aid) and most of the dads work in the executive suite at top companies or in investment banking. There are plenty that are quite short. It's striking.
My 12th grade son is 6 feet and is taller than most classmates. |
I agree that being very short as a man is something of a burden, in that many women won't date them, and some mean people would crack jokes about them. Just like being very fat as a woman. Or being very tall (over 6 feet) for a woman. Or being an amputee. Or having a very low IQ (for a man, at least). Or having severe burns on your face. Or a large port wine stain on your face. I could go on. Nobody has a perfect body, or a perfect life. |
Most of what you describe is sizeism, which is just as bad if not worse, than racism. |
