This is part of the Administration’s plan to discredit and dissolve nonprofits.

They are distorting the facts for soundbites to shock people.

Anyone with half a brain realizes their tactics were aimed at infiltrating and disrupting hate groups…which they succeeding at. They obviously don’t—and weren’t—supporting hate groups.

This is so ridiculous. When will this madness end?

If they polled donors, they would undoubtedly support the tactics to disrupt hate groups. Duh.

DOJ should be ashamed.

Congress needs to step up.

This!

No, the nonprofits are discrediting themselves. Giving money to the KKK is not a charitable activity, and SPLC lied to its donors about its purposes. This is simple. You ignore the lying to the donors part.

Meanwhile in reality, 501(c)(3) nonprofits can and do pay informants. There is no blanket prohibition. IRS rules explicitly allow 501(c)(3) organizations to pay "informers" or tipsters for information on criminal activity when it supports their charitable mission (e.g., alleviating burdens on government by fighting crime or extremism).

Sorry, forgot the source: the federal tax code. 1.501(c)(3)-1(d)(2)

It's sick and disgusting that sleazy dishonest MAGAs are now trying to peddle a narrative that right wing extremism doesn't exist and is purely a fabrication of SPLC. They are trying to destroy the people trying to expose extremism rather than having DOJ do its job to investigate. SPLC is investigating extremism because DOJ has and continues to fail us. This dishonest spin is dangerous for America.

Much like the 2020 lawsuits over the vote, Trump isn’t trying to win a lawsuit, he’s trying to inflame his racist base while shifting public debate away from the War/Epstein/Inflation, etc.

We've seen the released disgusting racist chats from Young Republicans and the Florida TPUSA chapter. We know who MAGA are. This does not change anything.

In the case of Charlie Kirk - he was assassinated by a progressive identifying sniper just 12 weeks after being declared “a racist” by the SPLC.

Sounds like the SPLC was providing targeting data for violent liberals to act on.

I suspect this indictment is part of a larger strategy to get various individuals within the organization to flip and turn informants to avoid jail time for crimes associated with the funding of domestic terrorists, in exchange for further testimony revealing the group’s actual goals of identifying political enemies and encouraging violent extremists to target them.

That’s the real reason for the indictments.

It's something to do with povvitty.
This radical left group, the Southern Povvitty Policy Research Council,
They were doing some terrible things.
They're radical left.

They're the radical left,
And they're a disgrace. A complete disgrace.

Declare them a terrorist group and confiscate all their bank accounts. Solved.

Right. But they can’t hide that they are soliciting donations to do so. If SPLC directors sent emails to one another admitting they didn’t want to scare donors off by being honest about how they were using donations, that’s a problem.

Also, if they used banks accounts for fake/misleading business to pay the informants, that is wire fraud.

You can probably just do it directly without the SPLC taking a "management" fee.

I don't see where the word "informer" is used or there is any language that would explicitly permit that activity. Can you show me what I'm missing?

I think that we’ve donated quite enough to the Trump administration through our stolen tax money, but thanks for the suggestion.

This investigation began because banks reported questionable transactions. And it began under Biden, but he shut it down. I think we know why.

Any sensible person knows that white Christian nationalism is the biggest threat to the country, and the are all domestic terrorists. The FBI knew this, too, before it was taken over by the far right.
