| Emory parent here. This is a silly thread. Everyone knows which schools are the Wall Street feeders. Emory feeds some but is not a top feeder. A lot of students who are at Emory aren’t there with the expectation that it will be their launching pad for a Wall Street job. My kid would be content with a back office job in Atlanta/Charlotte/Nashville. |

Being Top 10 doesnt mean you're a target. And compared to other Top10s has very low placement. Emory compared to other T25s has very good placement. Georgetown also ranked 24 mops the floor with Northwestern as it pertains to IBD placement, so explain that size one. |

M Thats you, most of the finance grads from Emory are getting Investment banking jobs, if thats not your child's expectation then their underselling themselves unless they arent in the business school. |

Curious that you cite USNWR to say Emory is a Top 25 school (24 to be exact) but choose to ignore USNWR when it ranks Emory Finance major as #45 in the country. |

Either PP was lying their kid is at Emory…or to be more charitable, their kid would be happy working in IB or PE for a regional firm based in Atlanta or the regional office of a NY firm. |

Thank you for the clarification. This is a different definition of “target” than is generally discussed in this board based upon admission likelihood (i.e. safety, target, reach). Appreciate the links. |

Whatever makes you feel better, but last time I checked T25s are top schools. You're purposely ignoring my point. Emory and Northwestern have similar IB/Wallstreet placement whether you think they are target or semi target, they are more or less the same and can get your DC the job they want. Being a Top10 school on USnews doesnt mean Wallstreet sees you as Top10. Northwestern, CalTech, JHU do not have Top 10 placement. In fact Boston college/SMU would be better than Caltech and JHU. Georgetown is T25 and has better placement that all of the T10s that aren't Harvard, Yale, and Wharton. |
