Non-life threatening injuries but in serious condition.

Link?

Twitter post.

Do not watch. It is very upsetting even if you dislike Kirk.

I wish I had read your post, the video is so disturbing and sad.

In this country, we don’t shoot people for saying things we don’t like.

We apparently do. This IS us.

I don’t like it and vote accordingly. But THIS IS US.

Pretty clear he was shot in the chest, almost center mass. It looked like it was directly at his heart.

Looked like his neck to me...but yes, very bad.

Reports are that he was shot in the neck.

He is a husband and father of two young children.
Those of you who are not condemning this horrendous act of violence and are seemingly celebrating - YOU are part of the problem with what’s wrong in our country.

is he a 5 year old child who never got to experience life?? did he see his 5 year old friends get gunned down?? he said himself that some lives must be lost to gun violence, its the price we pay for our gun rights. It's only right that he pays the price with his life, or are you saying he meant other people should die so he can have his 2nd amendment rights???

So is it real, or not? I watched it and it doesn't seem real.

It was immediately uploaded to YouTube. I think it's real

Children are ok targets but not political crazies who breed fear and anger?

Please. Anyone involved in this political lunacy should experience the same fear as a parent who’s waiting to hear if their kid survived a shooting.

Yes.

They didn’t give one s*it about the democrats that were assassinated in Minnesota and offer nothing but useless thoughts and prayers for children murdered, but we are supposed to care that a pro gun far right extremist was shot?

They threaten judges and threaten politicians that want to tell the truth?

We shouldn’t have any political violence, but my god, pardon the normal people for not feeling generous with our sympathy after all he has said and done.

Right! We shoot them at church or in their classroom like a real American.

Who is “we”?

I think we're going to need to screen people with metal detectors before any gathering with a public figure present.

People should be able to have verbal discussions and differences in opinion without the fear of being shot. Something is terribly wrong in this country and it's not just the guns. It's the mindset and a total disregard for human life. Because of these recent events, I've decided to seek certification to conceal carry for myself and every other member of my family this year, plus get private lessons.

Have you seen the way Trump speaks and what he says about people he dislikes? And how MAGA like him, in part, for how he "speaks his mind".

But, you want Dems to "go high" while they "go low"? How has that worked out for Dems?

I have yet to see anything other than outrage at political violence and prayers for Kirk, on Blueskye/the left. I am curious as that what posts you are seeing that are causing problems for you.

Chris Kluwe reposted the “me sowing/me reaping” meme. Also lots of people posting that clip where he says “unfortunately we are going to have some gun deaths.”

As I said in my follow up, tasteless but not justifying it and most posts are rightly condemning.

I am not seeing the problem with posting Kirk's own quotes.

Because all gun violence should be condemned. Mentioning that quote the context of a convo or an article about him would be fine but simply posting that (and only that) moments after he’s been shot is different and if you can’t see that I don’t know what to tell you.

It’s the type of reaction Trump would have if someone he was opposed to was shot, tbh. Personally, I don’t want to be anything like Trump but maybe you don’t mind it.

NP. Your belief is that all gun violence should be condemned, but that's not Charlie Kirk's belief. He thinks gun violence, and specifically political gun violence, is valuable enough that the power to commit such violence should be a constitutional right.

You are full of shit.

This is some more of what he said:

"The Second Amendment is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government. And if that talk scares you-- wow, that's radical, Charlie, I don't know about that. Well, then you have not really read any of the literature of our Founding Fathers. Number two, you've not read any 20th century history. You're just living in Narnia. By the way, if you're actually living in Narnia, you would be wiser than wherever you're living, because C.S. Lewis was really smart. So I don't know what alternative universe you're living in. You just don't want to face reality that governments tend to get tyrannical and that if people need an ability to protect themselves and their communities and their families."

"Defend yourself against a tyrannical government" is another way of saying (a particular type of) political violence. He supports that. I imagine a lot of us do, even many of the people talking about how violence is never the answer, but Charlie Kirk definitely does. He thinks there's a time and place to shoot people for political reasons. That's not "full of shit" that's the truth.

C’mon. Kirk is just paraphrasing Hobbes (as echoed by the founders). Accurately, I might add.

You are conflating their very limited argument with assassination of non-state actors. Inaccurate, silly and, given the circumstances, grotesque.

Why? Those 2A public figures think everyone should have the right to carry a gun.

Ok, but a field day for what exactly? Demonizing Democrats? Already done. Getting Dems out of positions of power? Already tried. Getting guns in the hands of more people? Maybe.

So a radicalized MAGA kid shoots at the president and the GOP has a field day with it.
A radicalized old white male boomer shoots charlie kirk and the GOP has a field day with it.

I am sensing a pattern here.
