They would have to be bipartisan and get rid of the filibuster like all current democrats wanted. Then they can apply the other popular with democrat idea of packing the court. |
| Wow the Democrats are going to shutdown the govt and defend and fire everyone, sounds like they are in a no win situation |

No sweetie. That would be the Republicans. They control all the levers of this government. There is no law that says that the Democrats are required to be their biatch during this period of crisis |

 Haha. You got jokes. |

Who is going to be left to process the RIFs? |

Republicans have the majority in Congress and the WH. If they need Dems to vote for their bill, they need to work with Dems. |

Russ is going to do it all by himself |

 1. The federal govt actually runs pretty lean. 2. I can tell you are not a manager -- or at least not an effective one -- or you would know that it's the good workers who don't put up with this kind of BS -- the ones who are unlikely to come back after indiscriminate firings. 3. The government has to follow laws and regulations when getting rid of people. These would have to be layoffs (costly!) and would add to the absurd volume of expensive court cases that the Trump admin is currently fighting. There would be not cost savings and plenty of disruption for all Americans. It's a stupid threat. The only thing dumber for Trump than making this threat would be following through on it. |
| Is Musk sitting this one out? |

The good workers have been jumping ship as quickly as possible. |

His head is so full of helium that he probably thinks he can do it all by himself |

They have all of our email addresses from the 5 bullet points |

Ridiculous. Shut it down. They can fire people, who will then sue them and get their jobs back. We've been paying federal worker for up to six months to sit at home and now Trump is quietly bringing them back. It's all a sham. So, the Dems should not worry about this dumb @ss threat. |

Yeah, the economy works wonderfully for Americans when hundreds of thousands are out of work. Why don't you focus on the real problem that a) Trump has increased the deficit this year, and b) you and I and everyone reading this are paying exponentially more for goods and utilities because of Trump's policies. You do know he's widened the income gap since Jan. |

That’s just notification that you’re fired. There is a lot more to a RIF than a notification. Skilled HR specialists are required to handle all that paperwork for benefits, leave payments, etc. |
