2010G BSC Coming For FVU

To think any of this is about the players is foolish!

Yeah, but biggest difference here is that Nadir runs the 10's now. Don't know the BSC politics but will BSC legacy players parents have the power to go over his head to get their way?

And NM was clearly successful with the 2007s who are now well placed in colleges around the U.S. What other FVU coach has been successful? Sadly, CWs successes are in the past. He may have been a good coach at one time but the writing is on the wall with the other FVU teams he’s coached. I can see why some FVU parents decided to leave given their new coaching assignment. The multiple mergers over the last two years have largely been a disaster.

There has to be reason NM was let go. Someone mentioned it earlier in the thread. What happened? BSC parents deserve to know. I don't think you can blindly blame on FVU alone. Although they don't seem to have a plan. Dumb. There has to be an reason he was let go. Wasn't he a long standing coach at MYS, too? Why didn't they hire him? Worried he's bringing his drama and baggage across the river to us.

He was let go because he is shady. He was getting paid for all these clubs but barely around to coach. FVU told him he needs to pick one club and actually coach. He is now using the FVU 10 girls for revenge and making promises he can't keep.

ML has been a very good coach, has been at almost every practice and game since taking on the 2010s, and had them in the playoffs every year. The problem is FVU was taken over by Brave in one of the far too many mergers. One needs to ask Brave leadership why they chose to let him and the others go. Outside of that, any other comment is pure speculation. I only hope the new coaches can match the effort and results.

KL always runs the show, and woiuld replace his mother if he had better option available so as BSC parent I'm highly concerned with this development

All are starters except for the #2 goalie, and its a grand total of 5 players. Only one is irreplaceable. Roster is at 15 now , FVU will be just fine. #1 goalie gets full games now, roster will grow to 18 but stays slim which parents love especially in recruitment years. This may be addition by subraction...as long as everyone stays healthy. On the flipisde I heard there were 2 ACLs injuries in that group of 15 left. So who knows?

Wrong! Only 3 players have requested player cards to leave to BSC, but none have been released by ECNL with the recruitment violations now exposed and false information provided to these families by BSC. There might now be reconsideration by a couple. There were also 2 unregistered players being recruited, but 1 has already committed to FVU, the other is still deciding. 2 forwards declined BSC to remain at FVU.

Wrong! All 5 are leaving. Get your facts straight.

Only three requested becuase the other 2 had not signed yet. So 5 is correct, but it may end up being only 2 or 3 now. These silly parents are coming to their senses maybee...

The back and forth of how many is a waste, just wait until they officially pop up on rosters.

One can only imagine the tension on the sidelines if upset parents force a decision on the parents and kids who want to leave. Relationships amongst the parents are likely irreparable at this point - 13 pages into complaining, badgering, and insulting.

Question for the parents that stayed on 2010 FVU
Can anyone tell me what makes you confident going forward in the organization?
I could understand if CW was in charge but he clearly is not. BRAVE is in charge. What is BRAVE’s track record? Boys? Older girls?
I’m disappointed because I know you parents very well and your letting the anger talk. I’m following the parent that had another kid play for both CW and NM. And he chose NM.

No dog in fight and don't know any of the initials being talked about. But this above is why this always seemed stupid to me. Its after July 1, so FVU would have to release players to allow them to join another ECNL club within 50 miles. Maybe you go after 1 or 2 and get lucky, but once you go after eight there's no chance FVU is going to let any of them go. Strategically stupid.

These parents probably fall into one of two buckets. The ones that had no where else to go and two; the ones that thought they'd stay with everyone else. If you were not given the option to go to BSC would we see you at Arlington? VDA? maybe. but that option wasn't out there for everyone.

I have no dog in this fight as my DD is not at either BSC or FVU, but...

(1) Players should go where they'll get the best opportunity and coaching. Nothing shady about deciding it should be somewhere else after a coaching change and organizational dysfunction. Clubs bring in new players all the time, why should the players feel an obligation to the club? Esp. as compared to a coach that they think did well for their development? I would follow a coach who was good for my DD's development any day over a club.

(2) Coaches offering a choice to players after a move aren't "poaching." They are letting parents and players make their own decision about what is best for them among the available options.

(3) BSC waiting until after the playoffs to make these offers, if true, speaks positively to ML's commitment to his former team. Imagine the outrage if these offers had come in the middle of a playoff run? When should it have happened? At tryout times ML had barely even been told he was being let go by FVU.

(4) The rumors about the timing of the coaching decisions, contrary to the prior oral commitments, if true, speaks to troubling organizational issues on the girls side at FVU. As does the absence of any credible explanation for the sudden about face, or serious plan about girls coaching going forward.

These are individual families decisions that were made based on false promises. No other family can force a decision for them either way. If anything there has been empathy and understanding expressed for the manipulation that some experienced and all the stress caused. None of the children & families on both teams deserve this.
But for better or worse ECNL does have that authority wrt to individual players, coaches and clubs.

Keep drinking the NM kool-aid and good luck at BSC. I bet the players and families there can’t wait to welcome an influx of FVU players who have been promised their positions and playing time. Or have you just accepted the 25+ new roster size and inevitable reduced playing time?
And equally good luck to the rest who remain on a team that actually made it to the top 8 nationally and won their conference.

ML is a great coach. His downfall is that he follows NM blindly.
