The sexism on DCUM is not related to feminism. It is related to misandry. And it is sickening.

Look at the number of women responding with something along the lines of "how bad can older women looking at younger men be if these men sleep with us," as an excuse for why it is okay. I hope their sons (or grandsons) never find out the example mom sets for them (and their sisters).

+1. Must be why there are a record number of women caught r*ping ( no it’s not sex) their students. Then the behavior is further rewarded with that woman gets a slap on the wrist. Even the headlines say “ had a relationship”
or “ had sex” instead of calling it what it is.

DP but I have noticed there is either a huge uptick in women sleeping with students, when traditionally it was always joked about men sleeping with students.

Perhaps it was always more prevalent among women/students and now that phones are ubiquitous they just get caught more, since young boys tend to have less discretion about their sexual exploits than young girls who are more modest.

We all do this, and there is nothing wrong with it. But it’s your DH’s job to not get caught, he needs to elevate his game.

You are proving OP’s point. In college, it may be an abuse of power and inappropriate and “sleeping with a student”- in elementary and high school it is child rape.

I don’t even know what my question is. It’s just gross and depressing.

Did you marry close to your own age? Then prepare for a divorce.

Men age more slowly than women until they are about 75 years old, then they catch up.

Evolutionarily speaking men also tend to want to either marry in their 30s-40s to someone who is around 10-20 years younger. So he might be getting ready for the socalled "mid life crisis".

You should have married an older man. Since you are mid 40s, it might be too late for that now.

How is marriage age “evolutionary” when men used to die by 40?

Men would raise a family, and either the woman would have kids until her 40s, or she had to stop earlier for whatever reason of having kids. Some stayed together, but if the man had means and wealth, he'd often take on a mistress to have more kids with her.

Either way, men often would start over in their 40s again with a new younger wife. Was and still is common.

This is not even close to true. Do you know what evolutionary means? It doesn't mean your picture perfect 1950's household. How do you even function in life.

More commonly, shed keep having babies until one of them killed her, and then he'd take a new young wife.

Most are not cases of rape or "children" but legal AOC age, but still students. It's the student thing that trips them up. If they weren't students, many of the instances would be legal.

NP. While I agree with you that it’s not okay, using that word is offensive for real rape victims. There’s no comparison between a violent rape and a teen boy who gets to live out some fantasy he has.

Is this something new or you married him knowing it?

I know things can be fluid, but I assume OP knew that she was marrying a man.

Not true. Many of the cases are of children under 18. That’s a child.

This is sick and why men/boys aren’t taken seriously. It’s r*pe regardless of gender. I don’t care if the boy is into it. It’s r*pe.

It’s not a fantasy for all boys. It’s a lot of trauma they will suffer as they become an adult. They are still groomed. Not all female r*pe is violent. That’s like saying she didn’t say no so it wasn’t forced. R*pe is r*pe regardless of gender if a child is under the legal age and can’t consent. No excuses.

The growing misandry in the last few years is so bothersome. I get it, women were oppressed for thousands of years. Taking revenge out on all males from now on isn’t going to fix any of that.

Hahaha. This comment made my morning

Everyone, both men and women, are attracted to 20 somethings at the peak of their fertility. The difference is women dont make fools of themselves by openly ogling random 20 something men and embarrassing their partner in the process. The difference is basic social awareness. The other difference is 90% of women could actually succeed in hooking up with some 20 something hot guy, even if it was a one time thing, whereas 90% of men will have zero chance with any of these young women.

That is just not true. I have zero interest in looking at 20 year old men. I see some 20 year old guys that are just adorable and sweet but no sexual appeal. The idea repulses me.

Men are different. Around 1990 where I worked in the summers while in college, high school and college girls were fair game to the older married men.

I don’t even want to think about elementary school kids being looked at in that way. Trump made me sick when he looked at a girl about 10 years old and said “I’ll date her in ten years”. Who talks like that?

I was asked out by two of my professors when classes were over. I went to a party with one. I wasn’t grossed out by 40 year old men in college. It had nothing to do with age. It was personality, pleasantness, and the fact that I found him attractive.

We don't all find the same men and women attractive no matter what their age. People who claim that 20 year olds are grossed out by 40 year olds don’t know what they’re talking about. Many are and many are not but there is no large consensus on the subject.
