Compared to now, they were. Don’t forget Europeans fled to the Middle East during WW1 and WW2 for refuge. The Middle East was largely not involved in both wars. In fact, Iran saved many Polish Jews from concentration camps

Does Iran want to nuke Palestinians and Hezbollah too? You do know that region is the size of a shoebox. Everyone’s on top of one another so Israel is lying when they claim fear over a nuclear attack. This is about military dominance and making sure Palestinians do not have a nuclear friend. Turkey could’ve gotten a nuke years ago but stopped after they realized how dangerous Israel is provoking war

Iran's leader Rafsanjani has said a nuclear strike would wipe out Israel while a counterattack by Israel on Iran would only affect a small part of the Islamic world.
