Agree that this is terror at home and could frankly now happen anywhere in the US. Bc you “look Jewish”? Right? People have been militarized and radicalized by fundamentalism. There’s no reasoning with them and it’s been tacitly condoned by too many in the name of “speech”.

It all stops now. Zero tolerance for ANY antisemitic behavior.

This will be a turning point.

What are you talking about? People get shot in America all the time. People get shot in DC all the time.

This is an awful incident...and particularly to kill diplomats there will be repercussions. But this isn't going to represent a sea change for violence in America due to religion, race or nationality.

Great. Our resident DCUM conspiracy moron is back.

Did everything change "tomorrow" when three Palestinian-American 20-year olds were shot in Burlington, Vermont? That happened last year and I don't see any zero tolerance for anti-Muslim behavior.

It's awful that people were shot in America, but it happens all the time in a society that for some reason prioritizes guns over people.

+1 where was the "thin red line" when the little boy was murdered by an anti-Muslim man.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cyveq30lmdlo

Hate begets hate. Violence begets violence.

if you read up on that story they knew each other and were even friends . Sounds like the killer was a nut. Also nobody is celebrating the killer in that story

That's right.. when a white anti-muslim kills a little boy, it's "mental illness". When a 30 year old man with a Hispanic name kills two Jewish adults it's terrorism.

How progressive of you to focus on race.

The salient difference is actually that last night’s shooter was a political activist/extremist, whereas the Chicago shooter had no history of political activism.

In other words, last night’s shooter was part of the movement and the far left is as responsible for him as Trump is for J6.

Can’t make the same claim about the Chicago shooter.

I'm actually not a progressive, but let's not pretend that people automatically assume terrorist when the skin color is brown, and "mental illness" when the skin color is white.

And actually, someone who kills for political reasons is what the military does. They just have a structured command to kill.

No question about the assassin’s motive in targeting, stalking, and slaughtering this innocent young couple merely on account of their nationality and heritage:

Bigger problem that I haven’t seen come up. He was apparently a member of the Party of Socialism and Liberation. Do you think he came up with this on his own or are we looking at a group planned situation.

Here are his political beliefs:

“Elias Rodriguez from the Party for Socialism and Liberation argued that the murder of Laquan McDonald and the Chicago bid for an Amazon headquarters are not two separate issues, but rather they are both connected.

“The wealth that Amazon has brought to Seattle has not been shared with its Black residents,” Rodriguez said. “[Amazon’s] whitening of Seattle is structurally racist and a direct danger to all workers who live in that city. So do we in Chicago and all across the country want a nation of cities dominated and occupied by massive corporations where only the rich and white can live and the vast majority of us must live on edges of the city and society living in deeper and deeper poverty?

“I don’t think so.”

From Liberation magazine (tagline: Newspaper of the Party for Socialism and Liberation) May 2017.”

Never heard of it. The radicalization of the far left and the far right is a problem. And unfortunately, the radicalized right is now running the government. Fortunately, the radicalized far left is extremely small and powerless.

Such muddled thinking.

1. Let’s go with the facts, rather than your speculative musings on society’s racism. Fact here is last night’s killer was a political activist, Chicago killer was not. That’s an important distinction.

2. Structured commands, civilian government control, targeting control and approval, subject to discipline and the rules of conflict, etc., etc. In other words, militaries and political terrorists ate nothing alike.

How would the shooter possibly have known that he had served in the IDF? People are really searching for ways to justify this murder. I think it's hard to argue seriously that killing an American Jewish woman and her German Israeli Christian boyfriend outside a D.C. museum to the history of Jews in the Washington area is a legitimate and carefully walled-off expression of anti-Israeli political sentiment. Even if he specifically intended to shoot these people as opposed to just happened to shoot whoever he first encountered outside the museum.

If he did serve in the IDF, then it begs the question how much death and terror was conducted during his service . Do people mourn the deaths of former Hamas members killed in the same way?
and if conservatives started to say that about planned parenthood workers? You are disgusting and are a terrorism supporter

You do realize that conservatives have murdered a lot of abortion clinic workers, right?

A lot of progressives have been posting this on Twitter the past two days “ Personally I support military intervention to entirely and permanently abolish the apartheid state of Israel.”

Except Israel doesn't gaf about "targeted control" or that the UN has condemned Israel's indiscriminate killings, so they don't exactly follow "rules of conflict".

So if Israel doesn't follow the "rule of conflict" why should others?

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. See Nelson Mandela.

Trump is all over "Truth" Social advocating for wiping out Gaza.

The situation in Israel and Palestine is a car crash that you can’t look away from. The truth is both Hamas and Israel’s government are both wrong and violent. It’s an argument over who people think is more justified but there certainly isn’t a right side. A bunch of kids have died over a violent 80 year land dispute and it looks like it isn’t nearing an end.
