DC going to be mediocre in SY as well
It ain't magic or miracle cure

Neither is playing kids in the grade below you. What a sad existence.

?????????????

Desperately hoping that your DC can still play kids in the grade below them so they can appear like they are a talent, is sad.

You are missing the point

If your September 2013 player is weak against March 2013 players in BY, they will be weak against them and players like them in SY

It's not a magic pill

Listening to some of you parents, you would think every top team in the country only has kids born in January and February.

No one after March has skills, talent and physicality

The other side of the coin is that March 2013 players have been playing 1/4 of the children in grades below them. Now they will play kids their own grade, whether or not they will be able to keep up will be up to the individual.

Please at the younger ages it absolutely makes a difference. My DD's 3rd team scrimmaged the top team an age below and won. This "3rd" team at least half the team will go down to that age group once this change is finally made. Because at younger ages a few months makes a big difference.

And what does School Grade have to do with the talent and skills required on the soccer field?

Be specific

A six month age/maturity difference in BY is a six month age/maturity difference in SY

How does SY solve that?

I don't have to be specific; you are just a contrarian, and it is a waste of time.

Did you play sports in school? When you were in 7th grade did you play with the 8th graders? How did that go?

It doesn't solve it, it shifts it. That's why this whole argument is stupid. June, July, and August kids are just the ones that will be most Disadvantaged. But they will at least be playing with those in their same grade unlike Q4 is now.

The specifics are the older kids on average have an advantage. In SY different kids will have an advantage, this makes some happy and some upset.

Love the commitment to talent and skills argument which if you haven't been paying attention to youth soccer takes a back seat to winning and collecting money at all costs.

Thinking soccer clubs focus on talent and skills is like thinking corporations focus on doing the right thing.
