Why the MAHA obsession with chemicals in food, but not the environment?

Trump EPA moves to abandon rule that sets tough standards for deadly soot pollution
"The Trump administration is seeking to abandon a rule that sets tough standards for deadly soot pollution, arguing that the Biden administration did not have authority to set the tighter standard on pollution from tailpipes, smokestacks and other industrial sources.

The action follows moves by the administration last week to weaken federal rules protecting millions of acres of wetlands and streams and roll back protections for imperiled species and the places they live. In a separate action, the Interior Department proposed new oil drilling off the California and Florida coasts for the first time in decades, advancing a project that critics say could harm coastal communities and ecosystems."

Good. Biden did not have the authority. You want it, push it through Congress.

Biden did have the authority- this is just a lie from a lazy anti-science administration that can’t come up with a better justification for not protecting Americans from air pollution as required by Congress in the Clean Air Act. If they don’t like it they should be honest and ask Congress to repeal the Clean Air Act.

This was buried with everything going on but RFK Jr. changed the food pyramid to put meat and cheese on the top (with vegetables) which I think is hilarious, since he was forced to eat a Big Mac on Air Force One. Apparently he thinks saturated fat is fine fine. Also, Dr. Oz just eliminated the recommendation to not consume more than one to two alcoholic drinks per day, saying that relationships is important to health, and thus implying that one cannot possibly socialize without drinking.

Never change MAHA!

Just because Trump ignores the Constitution and Congress with his executive orders, doesn't mean thst is the way the Presidency should work

At least not Biden

Watch out for the next guy and don't bleat "Constitution" when its you getting a stick up yours. Fair is fair since there is no law of the land

Also many meat and dairy manufacturers were listed as reviewers for the new guidelines. Conflict of interest much? Such a corrupt administration.

The prior posts re: introducing more PFA chemicals, roll back of regulation of PFAs in public drinking water, and roll back of regulation of clean air, impacts everyone. You cannot choose your way to cleaner air and water the way you can simply choose not to purchase food with red dye. Heck, PFAs are even in organic produce at this point.

When deregulation means more people being exposed to harmful chemicals, that's pretty bad, especially when the only outcome is corporate profit.

Going forward EPA will only consider the impact to corporate profit and give no deference to people.

The EPA is also allowing PFAS in the food supply. That should concern all of us.

I mean Dems need to say over and over again, "MAGA wants to kill your kids and you." Take a line from MAGA marketing--except use truth!

Because they're either eugenicst sociopaths, selling "natural" supplements, or gullible idiots.

Trump, RFK Jr., Lee Zeldin, Dr. Oz and others in the MAGA sphere: Lives are worth nothing. Profits are everything. They just made that crystal clear.

The EPA rollback should be headline news. This is awful.

MAHA / MAGA are obsessed with anything they're told to obsess over

I live next to a golf course and I've had any number of bot accounts or whoever insist that all the pesticides will kill me and my family and that I'm giving my kids a death sentence by living here.

Ok lol

I have family in this category, and it's honestly something that could be harnessed for good. If the right would just tell people with a healthy suspicion of the medical industry, etc. to focus on the biggest actual threats to our health, that would really help. They're just allergic to education and information and outside input.
