Hello Cancer and Asthma! MAHA! Trump EPA moves to abandon rule that sets tough standards for deadly soot pollution "The Trump administration is seeking to abandon a rule that sets tough standards for deadly soot pollution, arguing that the Biden administration did not have authority to set the tighter standard on pollution from tailpipes, smokestacks and other industrial sources. The action follows moves by the administration last week to weaken federal rules protecting millions of acres of wetlands and streams and roll back protections for imperiled species and the places they live. In a separate action, the Interior Department proposed new oil drilling off the California and Florida coasts for the first time in decades, advancing a project that critics say could harm coastal communities and ecosystems." https://apnews.com/article/epa-soot-air-pollution-trump-zeldin-deregulation-d7df5b24a159284e96b12958a840c3d8
Good. Biden did not have the authority. You want it, push it through Congress.
Biden did have the authority- this is just a lie from a lazy anti-science administration that can’t come up with a better justification for not protecting Americans from air pollution as required by Congress in the Clean Air Act. If they don’t like it they should be honest and ask Congress to repeal the Clean Air Act.
