Oh no! If it was officiallysponsored by FCPS in any way, shape or form, rest assured that it will begin the downfall of any staff who, in behalf of our school system, was involved. The principal, Superintendent, and the school board better get to the bottom of it before FCPS sinks even lower than it already has.

You don't agree that it is problematic for the school to promote a religious event? Big difference between providing space for an event and sending out invitations on the school email.

PP was huffing and puffing about events sponsored by school clubs that weren’t sending out invitations on the school email account.

I think PP was being sarcastic.

Was referring to a different PP.

Bc it looks like fcps is promoting, advertising, and favoring a specific religious group.

It sounds more like they are fostering inclusivity and learning.

That's what it seems and it makes a world of difference for kids from smaller minorities to feel normal and accepted, hard for majority groups to understand.

I am a person from a minority religious group. I do not agree with the statement above.

Having these minority focused events continues to “other” minority groups. In fact it ends up making children feel different from the majority population for no reason.

We are continuing to put people into boxes and silos in the name of inclusion. I hope it stops soon.

Schools should not be hosting events that highlight race or religion.

Question: do most of the Muslim kids in a school attend the same mosque? Why don't they have the events there?

Congratulations for getting the Iftar cancelled! What a noble cause you’ve championed. 👏

Why is it important to you that it be officially sponsored by FCPS?

Is that a noble cause to you? Why?

You really saved the students from having to learn about other cultures and religions. Great work!!!

I’m actually worried things like this will be used as a justification to insert Christianity into public schools. We need to be firm and not allow sponsored religion in schools

I wonder if the PP was a troll or seriously thinks it is okay for the school to send an official email invitation to a religious event.

Perhaps, next, we should have an invitation to support a Catholic mass, a Baptist sermon, a Passover dinner, and a live Nativity scene complete with angels and shepherds. I don't know much about Buddhism, but I'm sure we could come up with something special there.

The majority of the working class of all races elected Trump because they were tired of the wannabe virtuous tyrants.

A minority PP wisely commented at 3/22 19:29 (worth reading) that not everyone in a minority thrives by being singled out. However, it appears that “virtuous” radicals have made it their call to persist with their imposition on what they think is best for others, and additionally thrive on marginalizing and demonizing Christians, Jews, men, and white people. That is the reason why CRT/DEI/SEL have no longer any place in our schools.

I’m also from a “minority” religion and I totally agree with this PP. And, more importantly, the school shouldn’t be holding any religious events at all. Let community groups host them in the school.

“An Iftar dinner last week at Langley?”

“Piper, No!”

My DD got the same email(she goes to Frost) and they left out the prayer information and it was sent out on 3/20. They might have got rid of the prayer because of YOU. Great job ruining an inclusive event due to your self-centered crap.
