If they get fired, they get unemployment. If they voluntarily did the fork, they would just get thrown in the trash can. Money is better than no money, PP. Or as you would say, "wow." |
If fired for cause (AWOL) one is not entitled to unemployment. |
Sounds like a matter for the courts to decide whether this change in contract passes muster. Oh, look! There are courts all around us. Who knew. |
So what does this court order means in terms of due date for response today. |
I mean I have a performance plan, as do most feds. Mine's pretty objective in requirements. We sign them for the year in October. If I'm meeting my standards, I can't be fired for cause. |
Maga flailing trying to fight for the FORK. Hilarious. |
FORK email is out from the spam account. Shockingly few works from this crowd of people who can’t stop yapping.
Pursuant to an order, it’s been extended. Contrary to reporting, not cancelled or blocked (the big word let hanging is YET). Someone with sense drafting emails. Shocking. |
I have a feeling the judge is going to nullify the deal and all of the resignations, and then we’re back to square one. But I guess we’ll see… |
OP: You should be writing headlines for the WaPo or NYT!!
Bwahahahahaha |
You would think conservatives would not be cool with an 8 month paid vacation. But MAGA is stupid, so… |
No because they can now get unemployment vs. the nothing they were going to get via the Fork after the CR ends. |
It's a predictable talking point, but no, it wasn't largely a stunt. Make no mistake, this is testing how for the powers of the Executive (President) go. This is a right wing power grab. |
Yes but if there is a RIF most people would get less than the 8 months of paid leave. And if you are retirement eligible you get no severance. At the end of the day the fork deal is better for almost everyone except for those that have many years of service and are not yet retirement eligible How is Severance Pay from RIF Calculated? 1 week of pay for each year of service (up to 10 years). 2 weeks of pay for each year of service beyond 10 years. Additional 2.5% increase for every 3 months after age 40. Capped at 52 weeks (1 year) of pay. |
You're making an assumption it is actually paid out according to terms. There are multiple red flags indicating it won't be, therefore your comparative analysis is flawed. |
IF legal. That's a very, very big if. From https://www.oyez.org/cases/1989/88-1943 :
So if the Musketeer(s) are wrong, the federal employee is up Schmitz Creek with nary a paddle in sight. What was the reason this all had to be done so quickly, again? Why was it that they couldn't give time to get it vetted by federal lawyers, hmmm? |
