The best thing for the common hood would be for people to understand that if you want something nice in this country you have to sacrifice and work your tail off. They wanted their kids to have what they missed and encouraged them to follow their passions. The kids did so but the passion does not pay enough to have the kind of life they had as a kid.

I don't see how you can argue that Arlington is as healthy as Japan, but we can't build anything in Arlington because the Olds need to drive within 6 feet of their destination. Old people in Japan walk everywhere, why can't Arlington olds?

The life expectancy is the same, so people in Arlington are very healthy. You clearly know nothing about the realities of aging and disease. Old people can fall and break a hip or a bone then be stuck in the hospital for weeks. Many of these people never fully recover and have permanently limited mobility after this. Old people can lose 40% of their muscle mass from a week of bed rest due to a broken hip or bone. Many of them are unable to gain the muscle mass back and they have permanently limited mobility after this. Stop hating on elderly people with mobility issues because they don’t agree with your political views.

Why are retirement communities almost entirely built with "Missing Middle" housing? Its actually easier for Olds to get around by foot and golf cart than having them drive into their local grocery store with a giant truck.

For what it’s worth, my dream is to retire to a Pre-War in Manhattan. My parents, however, want to leave their home feet first.
