Nadia has worked tirelessly to lead search efforts and spread the word. There's a gofundme to help her search efforts, which may possibly be used to support the orphaned little girl. By all accounts Nadia seems like a trustworthy, determined, and incredibly kind woman.

I bet that disgusting man was thinking no one would raise the alarm about her being missing because she had no family here (and they are far away and essentially powerless) and not many friends. I'm certain he was counting on this not turning into a huge story and maybe even ending up being something like a cold missing person's case. But Nadia made sure that did not happen - so Mamta had at least one true friend here who loved her and fought for her and her daughter, and that made a huge difference.

Here's the gofundme. There are lots of nutty gofundme's out there (most of them), but I trust this one. Nadia was seen making a list of things she'd need to take care of the little girl. And no, she's not putting pictures of herself out there.

I hope she is going through the foster care system to get the training/approval required of her and that she will give up the child to its family in Nepal when the time comes.

I do not trust this Nadia girl at all. She first stated she would never ask for money, then commented yesterday that she might need therapy, someone responded to her offering her therapy for free which she ignored and updated the gofundme today stating needs have changed and some of the money will be used for her to get therapy services. I don’t know why but something just doesn’t pass the vibe check for me . She has been able to gather a lot of support from people who would try to fight anyone saying anything but this is just off, plus this need to want to take this baby like its some sort of thing to be passed on is crazy to me. She still has relatives who clearly want her and should be first in line. The fact that Nadia doesn’t seem to understand that is nuts!

There is nothing about therapy on the GFM so maybe she saw ur post and deleted.

Omg you are right! She deleted it. I wonder if there is a way to get archives of these sites. She keeps updating the gfm. This is what its showing now in case she updates it again:

A memorial service: We are hoping to hold a beautiful memorial service for Mamta. It is important for us as the people who loved her to be able to celebrate.
Justice: We are keeping quiet about this one for now, but rest assured we have big plans for the future.
Awareness: We have printed and distributed about 1,500 flyers thus far. We have t-shirt ideas as well as banner designs in the works. It has taken a bit of time and printing has taken up time too. I have personally made the designs and I'm still workshopping a lot of things. We are also working on a website to answer questions about Mamta's case.
Miscellaneous: We have had a few unexpected expenses, including pens, packaging tape for the flyers, clear file folders to protect the flyers, clipboards for volunteers so that the flyers don't get bent, boxes, binder clips, notebooks, a pouch to physically organize receipts, and much more. I even purchased a tick remover for a safety kit I put together for the volunteers, and it did come in handy!

The ‘Justice’ one is ridiculous. How is raising money going to make justice happen? It’s not like the prosecutors are going to charge the family for their services.

Exactly.

This woman seems reluctant to let the attention go. Odd.

No need for flyers, banners, t shirts or tick removal. The money should go to the BABY and grandmother.

The colleague who speaks publicly is doing a good job for the family imho.

I think what she did for awareness is wonderful and her heart was in the right place, but she now seems desperate to stay relevant. I’m so very sorry for the (likely) loss of Manta, but it is time to focus on the things that are actually helpful right now.

Yes.

One thing that concerned me was Nadia posting over the weekend about continuing to search for Matmas remains, including going to the construction site across from the Walmart to question what they may have seen. This is impeding with an active investigation and they should not be talking to anyone.

This is a different one started by her close friend and the one approved by the family

The baby's needs and the grandmother's while in US are real needs. T shirts are not. This is nuts. Glad I did not contribute. Prosecutors will issue updates on the case, there is no need for a website.

Nothing about this gfm speaks to supporting the baby or the grandma. You can see how she updated the description and this is not what was there before or what people thought they were donating against. Ridiculous . I hope there is a way to prevent the money from being used for things she just wants to do to stay relevant

Ah, that may be lost on those following the case but not that familiar with GFM, like myself.

I surely hope they do not impede the ongoing investigation; I hope LE has a word with her and no one else is silly enough to follow. Doing so is so risky when the goal is a conviction, she sounds like she has mental issues to even suggest such a thing.

I hope LE is aware of this.

Here is what Nadia posted publicly on Facebook - seems like her “investigation” is crossing a line that could hinder police efforts with witnesses.

She cannot coordinate untrained people searching landfills. I hope someone forwards this to LE so that the investigation is not compromised.

While money is still being used to purchase supplies such as safety vests, whistles, water bottles, and snacks for volunteers, we are taking a bit of a pivot with our goals.

If anyone reading knows her IRL, please encourage her to stop and to transfer the funds to the other GFM.

But she fundraised for a tick removal kit, guys!

This woman needs to stop.

It's all pretty disordered behavior. Hopefully LE will step in and stop any attempts at coordinating "searches" or questioning of potential witnesses. We all want this guy in prison for life, awareness was helpful, now professionals need to do their jobs with the investigation UNTAINTED.

If anyone knows her, please try to convey she needs to stop and give funds to the baby and close GFM. It's an active criminal investigation, the volunteer phase has ended.

Nothing about supplies for the baby. Super sketchy - she wants to get paid by the Go Fund Me for "workshopping" things?

Is she sharing law enforcement sensitive information? She could compromise the investigation and the prosecution of this man. She needs to stop.

Can someone post the link to the other go fund me? There are two?
