There was a welfare check done on August 2. Since she had done something similar before the husband assumed she’d come home and didn’t report it. There is a Facebook page that is updated often.

That is the most dangerous time for a domestic violence victim (IF that is why the police had been out to their house before, or why she left).

Maybe she's at a friend's house and she's afraid of revealing her whereabouts due to her DH's violence. Bless her. There are shelters in the area for victims of domestic abuse. The Women's Center in Vienna probably has information on them.

Mamta Kafle Bhatt left home 1 time previously in February 2024 to stay with friends of the couple. The husband knew where she was and why she was away. Her family was still in contact with her during that time. Mamta was never "missing" previously.

In both interviews I saw with the husband he just kept saying how tired he is. He also said he's struggling financially. Is he much older than her or just looks old?

It was an arranged marriage. She’s stayed with friends previously due to husband’s behavior. There have been many posts on DCUM by women who are married to abusive men and want to go back to their country to get out of the marriage. I wonder if she was one of the PPs. So sad.

Something must have been seriously wrong for her to leave previously when she has a young baby. Terrible story all around.

His Facebook profile says he works for the US Army from 2017- present. There are lots of civilians who work for the army.
