Agree- ratings and ad revenue are sky high for NBC especially compared to Tokyo. There have been so many great moments so far and track is just starting.

The video of that little girl freaking out after Katie Ledecky noticed her in the stands was so sweet! I had a moment like that in my sport growing up and I still remember it clearly.

Argentina players sang the racist "they play for France but are all from Angola" song at the French players, leading to a MASSIVE brawl that extended into the tunnel.

Why is with racism in Latin (including Spain) culture? One of the worst things ever is Spain's import of its racism to the Western Hemisphere.

With the exception of the opening ceremonies that had nothing to do with sport and more geared towards offending a segment of the population and but for the men beating up women aspect, yeah, these Olympics are the tops.

Did these prime time commentators watch and record their comments live this afternoon or are they commenting live to an hours-old competition? They keep talking about what we’ll see “this evening”, even though the live competition would have started late afternoon, Paris time.

There is the ‘live feed’ which goes out to any country that wants it with English speaking neutral commentators, usually experts in that given event. Then the USA has its own commentators, usually celebs or former athletes.

^^ The prime time commentators are usually reacting live, but also have connecting pieces that they’ll add in afterwards as the prime show is coming together. They have a researcher with them too, offering extra tidbits to say.
