What are some restaurants or stores that you WILL NOT shop at?

They told my wife that she needed four new control arm on our 3yo Subaru, estimate: $3600.

Longtime mechanic said one control arm bushing, $500 and that included an oil change and tire rotation. Screw those con artists.

LOL yes they stink

Once they charged me for an oil change and said they fixed a broken brake light.

I literally stood in the parking lot with the manager while he mansplained that the oil change was done. My father owned a gas station with mechanic bays my whole life. I know what an oil change is and whether it was done or not. And the light OMG>

Never ever again.

How can you tell by looking at a car if the oil has been changed?

The filter is a dead giveaway.

I love people who take a stand against purchasing luxury goods. Do you talk about your aversion to these brands? Do you sneer at people with LV purses or Chanel sunglasses? I mean, this is like saying you won't ever visit Eritrea. When and how does this ever come up?

I'm not the PP but I'll bite. I don't tall publicly about not buying high end brands or anything with a logo but my husband/parents/good friends know. I don't look down at others who wear and buy that stuff but **I** would never. And, the OP was specific in their question so I'm answering. Logos, high end crap etc. is so gross and not something I would ever buy.

Ok, it's just a weird flex.

Like, who is going out of their way to not shop at LV?

Publix is a grocery store, so if you live in a city where they're rampant, you're taking an actual stand. Same with refusing to use CVS. Even avoiding Nestle products (assuming you know how many brands fall under their umbrella). Even Chick Fil A can be ubiquitous at school or sporting events when people are trying to feed a crowd.

I can't think of a situation where someone has an opportunity to say no thank you, I won't go into the Chanel store because I'm against what they stand for.

It IS a brand that exists on image and if the image is tarnished, even if people aren't regular shoppers, it might be even more powerful than refusing to eat chik-fil-a or go to cvs.

Walmart is so fast with delivery. I ordered yesterday morning and it was at the front door by 4pm - no delivery fees or subscription.

You’re missing out on CYM. So good!

Safeway bagels are better.

Not PP, but it’s not a stand against luxury goods. It’s a stand against wearing tacky shit covered in logos, and being associated with the type of person who thinks it’s really high class to wear a bunch of tacky shit covered in logos.

Shopping at Walmart late at night depresses the heck out of me.

You should try to not do that.

Counterpoint: as eerie as it can be, that's when the least number of people are there.

Counter-counterpoint: though the crowd is smaller, the percentage of loons is probably much higher.

What is Bucky's?

Buc'ee's and PP is missing out Buc'ee's is the place to be.

It's like the Costco of gas stations. They have good food, household goods, clothes, gardening stuff, everything. They are a southern thing.

I just stopped at the Florence SC Buc'ees. They pay really high wages. They have a sign at the front posting every job and starting wage.

Publix

Any store that is closed on Sundays.

Any store that supports Trump, Maga

You will have a tough time buying groceries in Florida. I guess if you avoid Publix you will have to buy your groceries at Walmart.
