At our private ED+ED2 has close to 70 percent success rate at Chicago. Self selected group of students applying obviously. |
Not buying that. PP said ED. So, if you know the different kids applying in different tiers, then you'd know how many were EA if there are any. |
Exactly |
I find this hard to believe considering that most privates and a lot of publics do not rank. |
kids with 1550+, maybe 2 Bs in 4 years, and all the EC and sports money can buy. Plus full pay. That's tippy top for America. |
how do you know this? only asking bcs I'd love to know from our school. does Naviance break that down .. ed vs rd? |
It’s probably 99% of early admits who submitted class rank were in the top 10% of the class. |
Yes. SCOIR breaks down EA vs ED vs Ed2 vs RD |
Ha ha. Yes, that is a big difference. |
+1 |
Round here it breaks down like this for private kids with very good grades and scores
HYPSM — verging on impossible Brown, Columbia, Duke — very tough Dartmouth — tough but possible Chicago ED or ED2 — possible |
But wouldn’t this be the same issue with any of the top colleges (or any college)? They can only use the stats of those submitting ranks. So I guess what you are saying is essentially it’s a useless data point on the CDS. |
Where is "round here". Asking for context. |
At our private, there is considerable overlap. HYP /possibles & hopefuls slide into ED (ED2) to avoid the risk of a non-T10 outcome and so on. |
