There is absolutely no chance whatsoever that Haley could beat Biden with Trump pulling her down like an anchor. |
By your logic, Biden will crush Trump in a landslide. Pretty sure you need to get your head out of the sand and pay attention or else the blood of a second Trump term as president will be on your hands. Laziness = Trump presidency |
Y Not PP but I think you’re missing the point. Even if by some miracle Trump doesn’t win the Republican nomination, he would spend a lot of his time attacking not only Biden but the Republican nominee as well. So he or she wouldn’t get a lot of Trump voters to come out for them. |
THIS. I'm trying to understand who these people are still hoping for anyone but Trump to be the R nominee. What are they thinking? Somehow Trump endorses anyone but himself and his supporters move to them? In what world are they living in? OF COURSE Trump is going to bring down the whole party if he's not the nominee. But he WILL be the nominee, the guy's at over 50% of GOP supporters. He IS the GOP. The unbelievable denial of some voters is just astounding. |
PP here. Thank you, that’s exactly what I meant. In fact, if Trump didn’t get the Republican nomination, I think he would focus all of his rage at Nikki Haley and the RNC. He would actually try to help Biden win in order to punish the RNC for not nominating him. |
Trump isn't losing the nomination. The only way he doesn't get the nomination is if he chooses to back out or is forced to back out of the race due to legal or health issues. He has no reason to attack the other GOP candidates for the same reason he has no reason to participate in the debates. Trump vs Biden in the general election is a toss up. Trump vs a normal Dem candidate in the general election is a guaranteed victory for the Dems. Biden vs Trump is a toss up. Biden vs a normal GOP candidate is a guaranteed victory for the GOP. This is how weak Trump and Biden are as presidential candidates per the perception of a majority of Americans. We can argue against the opinion of most Americans all we want but those opinions aren't going to change before the 2024 election. |
Roe v Wade says hi. |
Exactly! With Roe v Wade giving Dems continuing political momentum, we will easily be able to beat Trump with any normal candidate. |
It won't be easy but I would rather be a Dem than an R. We still all need to work our butts off. I really hope all the posters in the Texas abortion thread channel their rage into action. We can't depend on "the DNC" or even Biden to carry this alone. It's up to us. Biden is busy leading. And he's doing a damn good job! The best antidote to anxiety is action. |
My heart says agree with this but my brain says I need to listen to the people which leads me to hope for Biden to step away so that there is no chance of Trump winning. |
Yes, this would be the case if Trump's removal from the race happened after Biden was nominated. If Trump expires or otherwise withdrew from the race prior to Biden being nominated, Biden would withdraw as well and the Dems would nominate someone of equal competence to Haley and that Dem nominee would be a slight favorite to beat Haley. |
|
All polls indicate that if Trump leaves the race, his voters move to Desantis.
There is no path for Haley. |
I don't doubt this but in a hypothetical match-up, Haley would be a lock to beat Biden but DeSantis wouldn't provide for an absolute guarantee of victory over Biden. I think DeSantis would fair only slightly better than Trump in a general election. A normal Dem candidate would crush DeSantis and would be a slight favorite against Haley. The fact that DeSantis has an edge on Haley in the what if Trump couldn't run hypothetical race makes this conversation a moot point. |
You are delusional. Good grief. NP |
Funny that someone as obsessed with abortion as you clearly are would call out someone else for being "obsessed." Know thyself. Look, we all have our most important issues. You just look incredibly foolish insisting that your top issue should be everyone else's. |
