Are you the person who thinks it’s disrespectful to others to go out in public without earrings on? |
| Because Americans are slobs? |
Is this an ad for Don't Worry Darling?

My poor, uneducated immigrant mom always found a way to dress well, so there goes that excuse…. |
| Civilization ended a while ago. I am happy for you that you are just now noticing. How charming. |
No. I am more of an “in the middle” type. You don’t have to look fashionable or attractive, but at least look like you can be bothered to put in the tiniest amount of effort. (Example: wear actual clothes instead of pajamas) |
And at least comb your hair. |
No kidding. |
|
I do actually try to look pulled together most days, though I think you can look pulled together in leggings or joggers or other comfy, practical clothes (and you can look sloppy in work separates if they are ill-fitting or poorly cared for).
I am SO GRATEFUL to live in a time when beauty standards for women are more humane and In can were no or minimal makeup, comfortable and supportive undergarments, and clothes that conform to my actual body shape and not some ideal. Like let's not idealize the era of girdles, here. Also, I have a less-than-A cup chest and I'm thrilled that the pressure to wear padding and augment my chest has pretty much disappeared, as that was never comfortable or practical for me. I'm a big fan of uniform dressing and routines to make it easier to look presentable with minimal effort. I do feel more confident and am more social when I know I look decent. |
| Are the pajama wearers putting on fresh pj pants in the morning or just rolling out of bed? Do they shower at night? |
|
What’s hilarious about this thread is that we’re all born naked.
|
I’ve seen women at the grocery store that look like they literally just rolled out of bed and came to the store. And this is for afternoon grocery runs. Hair scarfs, pajama bottoms and slippers. I think this looks so trashy and low class. I cannot imagine that they bothered to take a shower and still come to the store dressed like that. |
| Im always clean when I leave the house, but I’m not dressing up to go to the grocery store. But if you want to, good for you. |
Thankfully life is conducted in clothes |
Many Americans are slobs, fat, and lazy. "Convenience for me me me" attitude. Europeans still put in more effort. It is self-respect and respect towards others. I am sure it is the same in South America, Africa, Middle East, Asia as well. |
