I’m a ward 4 resident. Where did you hear about this incident?

I live in the building above and heard the shots.

Janeese Lewis George is the face of the city’s soft on crime policies that clearly haven’t worked. Time for change.

I know. Heaven forbid Ward 4 not cater to suburban drivers and ahole DC drivers who insist on treating Grant Circle like a speedway. Your hate for improved road infrastructure for vulnerable road users in Ward 4 just inspires me to work harder to get JLG re-elected.

Ward 4 should care abour Ward 4 and not insufferable carpet bagger fundamentalist bikers.

These plans are bad for Ward 4 and Ward 4 residents.

What are carpet bagger fundamentalist bikers, exactly?

A ton of Ward 4 residents bike. You sound ignorant.

They want to turn Grant Circle into one lane. They'd turn the other lane into a protected bike lane. Tens of thousands of people drive through Grant Circle every day, so it would create major traffic jams in the surrounding area. But, hey, it would also benefit, like, 12 cyclists, so there's that.

Yeah, poor drivers. They should make it even easier for drivers to drive 55+ through Grant Circle. In fact, DC should turn Grant Circle and NH Ave into a limited access freeway to allow suburbanites and outer DC drivers to drive even faster through Petworth!

Have you ever even been to Petworth? Grant Circle is a parking lot most of the time

I live a few blocks from Grant Circle. I don’t go around it daily but often and I am struggling to remember any time it was a parking lot.

You either don't know where Grant Circle is or have a strange visualization of parking lots.

Anonymous wrote:Hi all! It’s Lisa Gore and thank you for the discussion on this thread! I’m so excited about my run and NO - I was not encouraged to run by anyone other than my many neighbors in Hawthorne and Brightwood and a few in Riggs LaSalle! I promise you they are real people, everyday neighbors!

I do not want to stop your open discussions about this race or me, but I do want you to have access to me and get to know me first hand. I have quite the story including raising my son here - he was born at 24 weeks and only 1.5lbs. We went through tough, tough times. If you saw my At Large race you saw him with me every step of the way. He’s now a second year college student at LaSalle in Philly! It can be done!

And yes, I have an extensive LEO career. I started right here in DC as a juvenile, Bilingual Probation Officer. I was one of DC’s first bilingual (Spanish) POs in juvenile supervision. I worked in this role for 5yrs. I transitioned to US Customs as a Special Agent in San Juan, PR and then to the IG’s Office, HUD where I retired as a senior manager. I’ve done it all in this arena, white collar and violent crime, and delivery of services to juvenile offenders. I was a law enforcement instructor and National Use of Force Coordinator.

I retired during COVID to spend time with my son - finally! I immediately jumped into community service and ran for ANC. I’m serving my second term in 3/4G where I am currently Chair. This role has brought me back to my community service roots and even though I’m in 3/4G, I get calls from all across the Ward. And I answer!

Please continue with your discussions! I won’t lurk. I wanted to share some of my background and let you all know how to contact me directly if you every have questions about my campaign or need to verify information. I have the same number and email I used in the AL race, 202- 697-7056, info@gorefordc and my website is GorforDC.com. I certainly have a lot of ideas and we will be releasing our platform soon, but job #1 is serving constituents. That must be front and center.

Thanks!

Lisa R. Gore,
Candidate, Ward 4 Council

Another armed robbery spree throughout Ward 4 last night (with some Ward 5 spillover).

Pretty insane night for those of us in JLG’s ward with the helicopters overhead.

I heard the helicopters overhead for what seemed like forever before seeing a tweet with a link to the MPD report from Alan Henney.
