Stop knocking on peoples' doors

I'm not talking about legalities here. I am simply asking churches who send people out to canvas neighborhoods to simply DON'T. But if you must do it, consider not knocking and ringing the doorbell repeatedly. It is rude and everyone should understand THAT!

It's not "legalities" sweetie, it's just common sense. If you really want to deter solicitors and people lingering at your doorstep, you should also rethink the glass front door.

But sweetie, you’re not welcome. Take a hint!

Oh, I don't care. You do. See how that works?

You're getting straw-man-ed. This is what they do. They'll just keep repeating that you are saying it is illegal even when you deny that in bold and all caps. They'll do it until you get tired and leave the thread. They never get tired.

No, she’s ignoring the facts. They have every right, says the Supreme Court.

I just said not talking about the law. You are so emotional that you can’t even read a few sentences without popping off. I don’t like people ringing my doorbell over and over while knocking at the same time. It’s not an effective way to spread your gospel. Self-control, manners.

If it was JW, that's what they are taught to do. Only "strong" (aggressive) people are put on missionary duty.

Well they don’t agree.

And neither do I. I love religious weirdos. The weirder the better. That’s what makes America America.

It’s not about weirdos. It’s about being rude. Where are those holy manners? This forum is really sad and mean…and ironic.

DP. Wait a minute. You and your shrill atheist buddy been insulting everybody, changing your argument around, and distorting facts since the start of this thread. Amazing you’d call others mean and use the word ironic. You’re such a hypocrite.

Or get a shade for the glass front door, like I did, for privacy and security. Together with the Nest camera, we can easily ignore solicitors of any stripe.

So there are lots of really simple solutions, starting with the most basic of all, ignoring them. PP is right, it’s on you to stop whining and do something simple about it.

Seriously. Op is an atheist troll.

Let this thread die. Atheists can take it up with SCOTUS.

Starting to wonder if this is the pp from the Real Estate forum who went off the rails because some dad left notes around the neighborhood offering to buy houses there. Four pages telling that OP to unclench and asking why on EARTH she’s getting so worked up over something so simple.

Because pitching a hissy fit on an anonymous forum is the best way to persuade the local JWs or anybody else?

Go away, troll.

Dude, how many atheists are posting here 24/7/365, angrily, about their issues with religion?

We’ve established going door to door is legal.

Don’t answer your door, post a no trespassing sign, or tell people you are not interested. There is nothing more to discuss. If you have issues that stop you from doing those things, you have anger issues that need resolving with mental health professionals. Adults don’t need to cry online when they have ways to resolve their issues by themselves. What is anyone here going to do to help op?

DP. Two by my count. The angriest of the atheists vanished for a few months (banned? found a different forum to plague?) and we enjoyed a lovely respite from her spite, dishonesty and venom. Angry Atheist appears to be back this week.

When you believe in nothing, you apparently have a lot of time to worry about what other people believe in.

I've posted 3x. Didn't distort facts - same facts. How am I hypocrite? I find it rude for strangers to keep ringing doorbell while knocking at the same time despite me telling them to go away. And then I answered the door in case they didn't understand that I wasn't interested. The woman handed me a pamphlet but I told her that I wasn't interested. Then her and the other woman walked to the end of my driveway meeting up with another woman holding an iPad device and walked to my next-door neighbor's house. The man/woman team was already at my neighbors' door. What is wrong with me saying it was annoying and not wanting this to happen? Get a grip on yourself. I haven't insulted anyone. but I've been insulted. Also, I'm not an atheist so not sure why that has been hurled at me. It is ironic that on the Religion forum people are so mean!
