You claim to be summarizing the thread, so “lots of us” is a gross exaggeration. Besides you, there’s OP (who may be you), who is either a troll or in need of actual therapy.

No, I am not the OP. What about my summary was incorrect?

ps are you qualified to proscribe medical treatment? Either way, your use of mental illness as a pejorative is very distasteful, and you should be ashamed of it. Please stop doing that.

Whatever. You’ve invested way too much energy on this issue and that’s not healthy. Your little summary fails to point out that on this thread and on the Real Estate thread, the vast majority of posters have pointed this out (and calling it “pejorative” is laughable) and suggested you either need healthy coping skills or you’re a troll.

You are not a good human being if you make fun of mental illness by using it as a pejorative. That's just how I (and most decent human beings) think. The fact that you double down on it is all the comment necessary and I will just leave it here to speak for itself.

Nobody is “making fun” of mental illness and you’re lying about that.

Lots and lots of people ARE saying your emotional investment in something this trivial (and you claim not to even be OP!) is unhealthy. And that’s something you need to know.

putting any more emotional energy into this beyond ignoring/recycling the literature is batsh!t

gets so bent out of shape they complain for four days on DCUM is either (a) in need of a qualified therapist

Really they need therapy.

going into a 3-4-5 day online rant is NOT normal.

And amazingly you use another one in this very post!

It’s a constitutionally protected right.

It’s not rude as f. It’s a right that other countries wish they had. It’s a right many many men and women died for, and Militarily personnel to this day sacrifice so we may enjoy exceptional freedom.

Quit making it about you and your beliefs, because it’s not. Your beliefs don’t cancel out constitutionally protected freedoms the entire country benefits from.

People are so entitled and ignorant they can’t look at the entire picture. They just see their petty gripe as the most important thing in the universe.

I recently saw a video from a door bell camera a woman posted online. A man was canvassing for our current president and the woman who owns the home is not a supporter of the current president. The man rang her doorbell and she spoke to him through the doorbell and asked what he was doing. He gave her his memorized speech and put literature on her porch. She said look dude, what political candidate are you talking about? He didn’t say in his speech who he was actually supporting. He hemd and hawd and finally asked point blank and he admitted he was going door to door for the current president.

She said no thanks, and told him to leave. He flipped her off as he left. She laughed.

So did this woman go nuts online because someone she disagreed with dared step foot on her property? No!

Did she say omg ban these people from coming door to door, I don’t agree with them? NO.

You want to take away the right of people you don’t agree with to exercise their constitutionally protected freedoms, you are taking it away from everyone, in reality.

That’s not how we want our country to be. Use your words and say no, leave. Post a no trespassing sign.

But don’t act like people going door to door in support of someone or something they believe in is a negative, because it’s not.

I don’t agree with you, but I want you and everyone else (people I agree with, don’t agree with) to have the freedom to express their opinions and views to their fellow Americans.

I get an uncomfortable feeling that atheists don’t like that. They’d rather cut off their nose to spite their face. That’s probably why atheist politicians are not successful in large numbers, because people know, they hate freedom. If the shoe fits, wear it. I served in the military and my son currently serves and you are gifted with freedom you don’t appreciate. It’s like many people here are unaware or purposely want to take freedom away from our society. It’s really ridiculous.

You are really out there summarizing all atheists (and I think you mean something more by that) as people who hate freedom. you know nothing about other people's religions, other religions, or what freedom even means. and then it's related to military service? Scary person. Freedom but not for people you don't like or look down upon.

Where are you when Christians get called mentally ill? Kat Von D has been repeatedly called mentally ill in the thread about her baptism and conversion to Christianity. Multiple posters have implied she’s bipolar and “swinging” from one extreme to the other and “collecting” items from first witchcraft and now Christianity as a manifestation of mental illness. You are silent on threads like that. Defend everyone from being attacked/bullied for mental illness or personality disorders, don’t just get outraged and start calling others bad people when they talk about people you agree with.

I even alerted on some of the posts talking about her mental health, and I didn’t see them get deleted. Apparently it’s ok for the non-doctors here to diagnose strangers over the internet.

Let’s not forget the many posts calling people who were written about in the bible as schizophrenic or bipolar.

Or the recent thread asking if posters ever experienced the supernatural- op or several other posters asked point blank if people who answered had really been hallucinating! What the f does that imply, if not people who shared their supernatural experiences were hallucinating because of mental illness or emotional/personality disorders, or were doing drugs.

Yet you were silent on that thread too.

But whoa- now you’re calling out all the jerks who are suggesting op and the posters who have melt downs because someone dare ring their doorbell, because that’s making fun of mental illness!

The people posting on the real estate thread suggesting that were not mean or malicious, it’s just true. Nobody should go off the deep end because of things like this. It’s a big overreaction that points to op and others who react similarly as having unresolved issues in other parts of their lives. And that’s not even calling them mentally ill, either.

I clearly state all people, including people who I don’t agree with, should have the same exact freedoms.

It’s not up to you or I to grant people these freedoms. They are written into our constitution and protected by our laws and courts.

You all want people to stop exercising their constitutionally protected freedoms because you can’t tell people you aren’t interested or won’t post a no trespassing sign on your property.

You are overreacting because you hate religion and religious people and would rather take freedom or speech and religion away from our entire country, while shaming people who exercise their freedoms, than learn to live with people you have differences of opinion with.

You all are the scary ones.
