Bump again since tomorrow’s the last day. Plus this:

Just a reminder as GOP try to run on a 15 week abortion ban, claiming its “reasonable,”
Youngkin has promised to sign whatever ban comes across his desk. That could be 15 wks or it could be 6 weeks.

No matter how much Youngkin puts a fleece vest on it, a ban, is a ban, is a ban.

How many weeks is reasonable? 21?

Who are you asking? Because if it isn't the woman and her doctor, the definition of what someone thinks "reasonable" is is irrelevant. Pregnancy is literally the only medical condition that is the subject of this ridiculous level of legislation. Can you imagine if some right wing group decided that a cancerous tumor was "alive" and killing it was "murder" and spent years and years and billions of dollars of lobbying to try to convince people that it was?

I trust DOCTORS to provide the best medical care for their parents.

It’s absurd that a small group of people are trying to force their religious views on everyone else against their will.

Also Youngkin: we can't be honest during an election or we will lose voters

**currently** has reasonable times

Clearly, the Rs are looking to ban as much as they can. There were already three bills this year that the D senate blocked.

Seems like you’re not following recent trends in Rs banning abortion.

You won’t give a crap about any of that if crime skyrockets. My guess is you are wealthy enough to be able
to avoid those realities.

+1. Crime is THE number one issue.

LOL.

No. Abortion > Crime.

You can't persuade me that Loudoun and Fauqiuer are crime-infested hellholes.

And that's inconsistent with telling me the Republican sheriffs there should be re-elected, anyway.

Who cares about abortion. Non issue. I care more about attacking crime which the Democrats have utterly failed at across the board in this country.

Huh? Everyone with a uterus or knows someone with a uterus cares about reproductive rights.

It’s the biggest issue by far with the extremists in the VA GOP.

I wouldn’t say abortion is a non-issue, but I agree that crime is an important issue. I would like for my county to continue to not be a crime-infested hellhole, so my vote for our local officials generally is going to the Rs. And quite frankly, I don’t think VA is a state that will ever have a 6 week abortion ban so abortion is lower on my voting priority list.

It’s so interesting to me that Trump was the only president to preside over rising crime rates in 50 years and Democrats get the blame for it.

At the local level during the Trump years there were numerous “progressive” DAs elected, along with the “defund the police” movement, and unsurprisingly many of those same cities then started seeing surges in crime. I am not a Trumper, but he is not responsible for the current state of crime locally or nationally.

Did you also think RvW was safe?

The Republicans have already pushed three bills this year (2023), including one that is a full ban. And Youngkin “happily and gleefully” sign any legislation that “protects life” that makes it to his desk.

The Ds in the VA Senate have a very narrow lead. That is all that is protecting women in VA today.
