Why do people with few resources vote conservatively? As you suggest, liberal policies generally favor the disadvantaged.

Because they value their freedom? Because they know they can do it themselves? Because they don’t want to live on the government teat?

Being forced to give birth is the opposite of freedom.

No one is being forced. Abortion simply went back to the states. Oh, the drama!

Where certain states are now forcing girls and women, some of whom were raped, to forced births. Why do you ignore this fact?

Please give me a list, with names, of girls and women who cannot get abortions anywhere in the country.

if you want gynecological lists of women and girls, ask Ron Desantis.

I’m asking people here. Surely there should be thousands by now!

What makes you think that every woman who had a problem getting an abortion published her story?

Are you saying it's reasonable for women to have to travel fo other states to receive this care? How are they supposed to afford that? Time off, hotels, waiting periods, plus the cost of the procedure?

1) Elizabeth was released from the hospital. Off they go to another nearby state that allowed abortion. She was not in dire straits. She just wanted one.

2) Amanda could have driven with her husband the 8 hours to another state. They chose not to.

3) Marlena was giving the pill. She chose not to go that route.

4) Tara could have gone to another state. She tried Michigan. Go to CO or CA. She had time.

5) Don’t hand me planned parenthood stories and expect they won’t be biased.

Republicans: so you have to travel out of state for a procedure, and spend one or two nights, take off extra days of work, find someone to babysit overnight. No biggie.

Showing themselves to be the elitists that they are.

All were given in-state choices. They just didn’t like them

So then what is the point of all of the money and time and suffering spent on outlawing abortion at the state level? You are pretty damn stupid aren’t you?

To me it's obvious why the rich vote Democrat: they have the logic to figure out that Democrats actually want to govern as opposed to Republicans who seem to want instability and to tear apart the government and the nation through violence.

The real question to me is: why would people without as many financial resources vote for a Republican Party that seems to hate them and creates policies that undermine their health and well-being at every turn?

Rich people can buy safety and security. Rs want lower taxes so they can hoard everything for themselves. They believe in bootsrapping. If you are poor, whether R or D, it must be your own fault. Nevermind that the past few R POTUS have all come from wealthy families.

They want to keep others from getting wealthy like themselves. A lot of these places stop development and the housing prices go very high and low income have to move out. Black populations have declined in many of these cities.
In places where they haven't dropped, there will be grocery stores with high prices, that these liberals frequent because it means they won't have to mingle with black shoppers.

And not because cancer care has been made ILLEGAL in their own state. FFS
If it was, they could treat in a neighboring state.

None of that should have been necessary.

People travel out of state for cancer care all the time

Not because cancer care is not available in their own state.

Why should you have to travel to another state for care your doctor thinks you need? Why do you think it's OK to impost that cost on people? Do you think everyone has money for that? And time? When they are sick?

Republicans: so you have to travel out of state for a procedure, and spend one or two nights, take off extra days of work, find someone to babysit overnight. No biggie.

Showing themselves to be the elitists that they are.

All were given in-state choices. They just didn’t like them

Watching you work so hard to try to be OK with abortion rights being taken away is fascinating. And sad.

It is what it is. Just own it. You voted for the forced birthers. You must be OK with that. Too late now.

I think we should think long and hard at the ease in which we terminate a life. Notice how none of these stories start with “Sarah is 22, has multiple partners by choice, and sometimes skips her birth control. She’s found out she’s pregnant and is not ready to have a child….” Reason? Because that would bring up very uncomfortable questions. And that is the majority reason why someone seeks out abortion.
