Indeed. And if anyone wants to drink some MAGA tears of unfathomable sadness, and you have SiriusXM, listen to Dan Abrams’s show on POTUS from today about Trump vs. DeSantis. He’s a moderate but gets lots of right wing callers and they are positively rending their garments.

They still won’t course correct. We’re not done with maga, not by a long shot. They were rending their garments after losing in 2008 and 2012, too; they just doubled down on the crazy.

They are in a bind. It’s 30 % of their base. They can’t abandon them and win elections.

They could have regrouped back then and followed the recommendations they were given, which was get away from the bigotry and sexism. Instead they doubled down.

Seriously, he's made two seriously big (right) calls when like 95%+ of the political punditocracy was going the other way.

+1. And not to take away from Moore's prediction, but i feel during this election cycle anyone consuming media with a critical eye was not shocked at the outcome. If you write and report 1000 stories on inflation you start to believe your own talking points.

I listen to BBC news hour most morning. It's astounding how our media almost never challenges the person they are interviewing or even asks basic questions.

This this this.

I have a fairly low opinion of the American population, but the media seems to have an even lower opinion, or are among our dumbest people, because their lack of critical thinking is astounding.

I agree with you and 14:01. I’ve stated several times that from the point of the Afghanistan withdrawal began, the whole “mainstream” media apparatus began to go hard against Biden and the Democrats on the flimsiest of pretexts. Nothing Biden did was treated like the win that it was (except on the op ed page), even though they practically pooped themselves a few years prior in rushing to claim that “this” was Trump’s “moment to become presidential.”

And they spent the last year covering InFlAtIoN but never really sharing that the exorbitant prices we’re all paying are largely a function of corporate greed, or that our inflation is lower than other comparable countries. They never pressed GOP candidates on what they’d do.

And they treated the GOP like they were a normal party, never talking about the danger that they pose to the country. They are high on their own supply.

Frank Luntz was on CNN this morning issuing a small mea culpa - of course, it also was "well, it wasn't MY polling..."

I know you’re being sarcastic, but it’s astonishing how many people seem to truly believe without any reason that the media is liberal.
