and if we look at any civil rights movement in this country involving non whites, government agencies ie the FBI , have always been on the wrong side and were used as a tool to suppress, harass, and deny American citizens fighting for their civil rights. |
| Anyone involved in covering up needs to be fired, prosecuted and blackballed from ever serving in federal government again. |
Oh, so now Rs don't want to back the blue, and LEOs don't love Trump? I'm pretty sure we can find many many posts between 2016 and 2020 where Trumpsters were adamant that LEOs just loved Trump, and during BLM (nonwhites), Trumpsters were all about #backtheblue, and we should use facial recognition software to arrest the looters. But, now, LEOs are our enemies, and using facial recognition software is dangerous to the public. So, on the one hand, Secret Service is good because they support Trump, and they deleted all the text messages that might hurt Trump; but, OTH, the FBI and DoJ are corrupt because they "raided" a former POTUS residence for taking classified material that was not his to take. What PPs wrote about DH up thread is just deflection. Stick to the topic at hand. There are those in the SS who have gone rogue and think they are above the law, just like Trump. They should be held accountable, just like Trump, or any DHS, DoJ, FBI, local cops who break the law. Period. BTW, those ring cameras are great for catching crooks who break into cars and homes, and steal your Amazon packages. People post their ring camera videos all the time on nextdoor showing criminals attempting to breakin to cars. I guess if I was a criminal I wouldn't like ring cameras, either. Also, other democracies use CCTV, and it helps prevent crime, or at least, find criminals a lot easier. |
Wow. I knew it was invasive, but not this invasive. Is anyone in congress (either party) interested in fixing these abuses?? |
Trump was more concerned with "building the wall" and keeping the illegals out than dealing with abuse of power, but then, he also abused his power, and continues to do so. |
Is anyone paying attention while our civil liberties are being dismantled? |
Lots of liberals have been talking about it since W really accelerated it. We have been called a host of names. |

Citizens for Ethics announced on Twitter today they they have a bunch of SS emails related to 1/6 (you can read them for yourself on their website) and will be releasing info about them regularly.
https://twitter.com/CREWcrew/status/1559904098882916355 One of their first discoveries is that the SS had info about threats to Pelosi and did not pass them on to the proper authorities until after Jan. 6. https://www.citizensforethics.org/reports-investigations/crew-investigations/secret-service-held-onto-pelosi-threat-until-after-insurrection/ |
Plenty of video footage of 1/6 bomber and yet here we are. How many perps are ever apprehended with Ring footage? |
oh yes, I recall Rs (myself included back in the 90s/early 2000s) saying to liberals that you have nothing to be afraid of if you are not a criminal regarding the Patriot Act. You won't find any conservative news outlets back then complaining about the erosion of civil liberties. Yes, I left the R party a while ago, and I don't mind having cctv. I think it keeps us safe. It could've been used to get the woman in the video who was seen trying to plant something near the Capitol during 1/6. Cops use security cameras all the time to find criminals. I don't see using ring cameras or cctv to be all that different, just more of them. Shrug.. don't break laws, you have nothing to worry about. I also think it's fantastic that it was the security video at MAL that caused the FBI to get the warrant. |
This is somewhat misleading. These were Emails shared by the law enforcement intelligence consortium not internal SS communications. |
clearly there weren't enough clear footage of the 1/6 bomber, which is why she has yet to be caught. If we had cctv everywhere and every door had a ring camera, I bet they would've caught her by now. |
