| I’ve always been an independent voter and chose people based on their merits. I still will, however I know I’ll be choosing blue all the way down the ticket. Too many crazy conservative GOP candidates nowadays. |
Only if they are well regulated. That means you are not allowed to bear arms without training(initial 6 weeks training plus 2 days a month), licensing and storage at a government controlled armory. |
The US Army is the people’s militia. They bear arms on behalf of the people, to provide security and freedom to the people. If the people want to dissolve the US Army, bring on a draft and arm every household to defend the country, than say so. 2nd amendment is clear, right to bear arms for express purpose of fighting in a militia, not for individual protection, for hunting or for shooting ranges. |
This right here is why I’m going to stop reading this depressing AF thread. I think it’s on page 2. The comment about race is just racist. The second half is mystifying. If you don’t want dependency on government allow abortions. But that’s the GOP model; you can pull yourself up from your bootstraps. It also has such a scarcity mindset. There have been articles about whites hurting economically, and they’d rather all stay poor rather than seeing anyone get anything they may not. Besides, I’m sure this poster got or had friends getting Covid assistance. The cognitive dissonance is real. OP good for you. But the op’s are truly disheartening. |
National guard is most analogous to a militia. |
It's not "Representative Democracy" when you gerrymander, when you cheat people out of their votes, when you undermine democracy by promoting false Big Lies about a "stolen election" what wasn't stolen, when you steal Supreme Court seats and pack them with seats for life in a way that is totally out of kilter with the actual population and they then go ahead and start overturning laws made by the actual representative democracy. Sorry but when you vote Republican you don't get to talk about representative democracy because you don't actually support representative democracy. You support tyranny by the minority. |
Yes, those horrid Dems are condescending and patronizing because they keep rubbing inconvenient truths in your face - how about getting on the side of truth if you don't like that happening all the time? |
Abbot’s corrupt border control plan has blown up in your face. No accounting of taxpayers money, fake numbers, and fake fentanyl bottles that they claimed were allegedly confiscated distributed at an Abbot rally. I’d tip his wheelchair like you whackos tip cows. Go find the 10 page article yourself. |
You can’t be this dumb! The Constitution already delegates control of elections to the states. No wonder so many of you are apoplectic, you don’t know the most basic civics about the country you live in. |
It's not really "tyranny of the minority" if ~half the country voted for it. It sounds like you're just mad that you're losing control of the narrative and people are seeing Dems for what they're worth. Good luck in November, sweetie. |
They mean sole control to state legislatures, not the state constitution and not the state courts. A few bad actors could overturn the popular vote of a state. |
Half the country by area, not by population. |
And the Ninth Amendment gives the unenumerated right of reproductive liberty and bodily integrity to the People. |

Whites - especially in the south - usually vote against broader societal interests to maintain their racial hierarchy. Obviously with men. Perplexing with women. |
