What movie do you love which would never be made today?

Rocky Horror Picture Show- it makes light of rape

The Bad News Bears could only have been made in the ‘70’s. Not before or after that decade. Really a snapshot of its era.

Really, why?

Some of the things Harry says are not very PC/PG. I was rewatching it with a sensitive friend and she had to walk out! [/quote

Good God.

They would not make Exodus today And sadly I think maybe even Schindler’s list at least the ending part

The Godfather, the female roles and dialogue would not fly today. Connie’s pivotal scene and Kay’s blind love would’ve been redone or scrapped and we would have a much different movie.

On the other side it was very interesting to me that Some Like It Hot was entirely appropriate today.

absolutely- there is literally a sexual assault scene that is supposed to be funny and feel-good, when the hot boyfriend give the geeky braces dude permission to rape his girlfriend in a "im taking you under my wing" effort

Oh my god I completely forgot about that. Wtf

Yeah, and Jake Ryan says of his passed-out girlfriend, “I could violate her ten different ways if I wanted to.” Then he passes her along to Farmer Ted and implies it’s Ted’s right to do whatever he wants to her.”

Molly Ringwald also talks about the scene in The Breakfast Club where it’s implied that Bender touches her under the desk. Watching that with her kids…

Do you people honestly not get tired of yourselves? Must every form of storytelling consist ONLY of characters doing things that align with your morals? That’s going to be a world rich with art.
