What movie do you love which would never be made today?

I actually just saw 16 candles again and it's a really disgusting movie.

Airplane came to mind for me, too. I was just watching the clip with the white leafy speaking “jive” this morning and thought “They'd never get away with that now!”

I had a crush on Jake Ryan. Now I watch it and cringe. Molly Ringwald wrote a thoughtful piece about this in The New Yorker, I think?

The word that you're looking for is rape. The whole movie is basically an incel fantasy land.

All we have is awful fantasy/animated/marvel movies. Apparently they are popular in oversees markets and so they keep making them.

Sadly I dont think movies as recent as the Judd Apatow comedies get green-lit today.

Revenge of the nerds was not a good movie even when made. I saw it in theaters (and was a nerd!) and it was just offensive all around. It felt like a preppy popular guy’s version of nerds and what they would do if they could. (Unlike say Big Bang theory, which reads more like nerds’ view of themselves.). It was all around mean spirited.
