I'm not trying to force anyone to shorten their life. It's my natural-born right as a human being to think that, though. Everyone is allowed to have hateful thoughts as long as they don't act on said thoughts. The OP's BIL may have a similar thought process. He has every right to think that his mother should be dead. And while it's true that how much longer she lives is none of his business, it's also none of his business that she had a stroke.
