No one has a "perfect life". That is the mentality of a 10th grader. Sad to think an adult still thinks like this. |
Carrie would have married a rich man. And Big is not even a desirable one, so I suppose that ending fits. I just do not see someone with her looks, despite being skinny, being super popular with men. Charlotte would have been snapped by a rich guy by 28 latest. It makes 0 sense she is friends with any of the other women. At all! What does she even talk to them about? |
Not adopted? Because people like Charlotte never have fertility problems? Lol |
It’s almost like personality matters. I think Charlotte was a better friend than Carrie, but Carrie was more fun and had a personality that more men would like. |
I always got the impression she was highly amused by them since her own life was so boring. She also seemed all persona, but she didn't seem to really hang out or be clued into the type of people who you (or she) would *think* would be her type of friends. I think there was a reason she wasn't "snapped up" and that is largely that she was a total poseur in that world and didn't have friends and family looking out for her. |
Also in real life SJP is married (and dated JFK Jr!) and Davis is not. |
Charlotte was a Connecticut blue blood conservative sorority girl at her liberal arts college. Women in that orbit marry in their mid and late 20s, period, when their beauty is peak and fertility is high (duh). And also, being single and still doing the "hookup culture" thing into your late 20s, let late mid 30s, is disgusting and sad. Women have fertility problems when you run around with drunken immature trainwrecks like Carrie from age 22 to 35. You've lost over 95% of your eggs by that age. Charlotte turned 36 years old in Season 5. She married Harry in Season 6, thus she was 36 to 38 years old? At that age it's adoption and IVF. |
There are three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born here, who takes the city for granted and accepts it size and its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter – the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is the New York of the Person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something. Of these three trembling cities the greatest is the last – the city of final destination, the city that is a goal. It is this third city that accounts for New York’s high-strung disposition, its poetical deportment, its dedication to the arts, and its incomparable achievements. Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness; natives give it solidity and continuity; but the settlers give it passion. E.B. White, "Here is New York" |
Also, Charlotte was model-tier gorgeous. While Carrie is woof. |
The misogyny on this thread is astounding.
I feel the "Carrie is ugly and would never land those dudes" crowd is projecting their own insecurities on SJP. I'm thinking that many of these women are attributing their life situations to their non-model looks - average looking and earning spouse, not particularly dazzling career, etc... Seeing someone like Carrie (or SJP) who shows that looks are only a part of the package casts a spotlight on their own INTERNAL ugliness and drives them into a rage. It's not your looks that are the problem. |
I want whatever it is you're smoking. Charlotte is cute enough in a dime-a-dozen totally average way. |
Fun, sexy, and hot body > boring blue blood every time, at least as far as dating is concerned. |
Upon further reflection, Carrie, as she is portrayed on the show, is an example of a woman who makes the most of what she has. Yes, objectively she is not very attractive and has an unconventional face shape. But she has a thin petite frame that she has honed through exercise and diet. Look at how muscular and beautiful her legs are and how sculpted her abs are. Average women do NOT look like this! She then is incredibly well groomed and put together. Her hair and makeup is always done to enhance her facial features. She is always overdressed or dressed up in a way that is unique, quirky and with the intention of displaying all her body. She can't walk in a room without people looking at her due to the strange, cute or quirky outfits she wears. Clothes. She exclusively wears designer clothes and shoes. She dresses up like she is THE prize. So much of seduction and beauty is in how to present yourself. She is wearing sky high expensive shoes, tight little designer dresses and walking around with a coy flirtatious smile. Confidence. A lot has been written about Carrie's main character syndrome. But you know, she prances around in her expensive shoes acting like a prize who deserves the best men. This is not a shrinking wall flower. She has the confidence and sensual allure even a much more physically beautiful character like Charlotte does not. In face, we see that Charlotte has a harder time dating than Carrie, despite her objectively good looks. She is too prissy and too uptight and boring and frequently gets dumped. Bedroom. By the way she carries herself and how many men she's slept with, she must be good in bed! She is fun, flirty and cute. Full of personality. Petite and quirky. Many men would be putty at her feet! |
It's a TV show, not real life. Charlotte had a "hard time" dating only because the writers room despised gorgeous WASPs like her. Flawed logic. If Carrie was such an amazing bedfellow, perhaps she would have had a high-status man marry her 10 plus years prior. The more logical conclusion is she's simply a drunken trainwreck used and led on by a series of men for easy sex with no intention of 'buying the cow' so to speak (marrying her). A lengthy sex life doesn't guarantee you're good at sex, but it does almost always mean STDs, baggage, substance abuse, and mental issues. |
You are such a weirdo. Isn't it time for you to start another thread asking if eating breakfast is low class? By the way, we see nothing to suggest Carrie WANTED to get married any earlier than she did. She seemed to be enjoying her life quite a bit. |
