Manchin Is the only thing preventing insane runaway inflation (which is extremely regressive btw) |
Good article about how Manchin's home town is getting wrecked by climate change - disastrous flooding from ever increasing rainfalls. Even his own cousins are getting flooded out of their homes and their basements filled with sewage.
In fact, West Virginia is actually the most at-risk when it comes to future flooding & exposed infrastructure. The guy is literally twiddling his thumbs while his entire state will drown in the next few years:

I wonder if even his own family can talk some sense into him. This is outrageous. |
WV is a mountainous state with huge risk of flash flooding. Everything built into the side of a hill and near a creek or river. I think they know that he's their gravy train, so they publicly keep their mouth shut. The Manchin family is very wealthy due to their political fortunes. I'm not sure how far the wealth has reached into his extended family. |
6T to 5T to 3.5T to 2.5T to 1.75T - progress. ![]() |
God you Republicans are ghoulish. So much progress is being lost. We’re losing so much time on the environment, and it’s because the oil companies have paid off Manchin. No one knows what moron Sinema wants, other than publicity. |

Go to Biden and cry about it. |
If you mean progress=socialism, I don’t need any of that “progress”. See already when you pay people not to work, give them “tax credits” or payments when most people don't pay taxes, it causes a lot of people not resign or having to go to work. And there it is, good luck finding anyone to do the jobs like working in a restaurant, driving trucks. And I love the Universal Pre-k bs, so we give everyone in the county Universal Pre-k, But where are you going to hire the Extra 10,000 teachers needed for this when we can’t even get enough to teach in schools?? |
Actually I'm pretty happy with this Manchin change. I'm building and need the Solar Tax Credits for the roof. ![]() Democrats are in discussions to repurpose $150 billion that had been earmarked for an effort to spur electric utilities to more rapidly reduce emissions — which Mr. Manchin opposes — to instead fund other efforts to fight climate change. Those include additional tax credits for solar and nuclear power and capturing carbon emissions from fossil fuel-powered plants. They also include grants and loans to incentivize emissions reductions in steel, concrete and other industrial uses. “We’re going with tax incentives — we’re going to incentivize people basically to move forward on technology that we have,” Mr. Manchin said on Tuesday. “We’re going to take the best that we have in technology and use it for the betterment of the globe.” |
Define “socialism.” |
