Any other teams get an email?

Yes - 09’s and 10’s got one, too - NM is taking those teams which makes sense because there’s a lot of double rostering between the 2

So he is going to double dip on his pay by combining team practices, I assume.

This happened to our friends this year at a nearby club and it made all the parents very unhappy. (Coach left, instead of hiring a new coach the club just combined practices so two teams and 1 coach. Huge downgrade for the kids training especially when all the other teams practice with just their team and their own coach).

a family on our current team left Valor because the coach ran combined practices for both of his teams. i'm not sure why clubs think parents will tolerate this. you are literally getting half the attention and training compared to every other team, for the same cost. Nope hard pass.

Well, they don't tell people when they agree to join the team that they are planning on running combined practices or that if their coach quits, they aren't hiring another one. Then people get stuck in a situation for a whole year or season that is 1) not what they were promised and 2) detrimental to their child's improvement.

Well he’s the TD so he might not be getting any pay for taking over 2 teams but even if he is, GD had overlaps in his practices with multiple teams and especially in the spring during high school soccer lots of coaches combine 2 teams so there are enough kids to run a good practice

GD had a contract through June and bailed on these teams. That’s the only person you should be upset with

So GD double dipped on two team practices at the same time, as well as fleecing his families with pay to play private training? No wonder he can "coach" four teams at a time.

He seems to be a perfect fit for VRSC

They can do it as well as GD did coaching 4 teams at GFR! They all have great assistant coaches too. And RL doesn't have a Spring season so GFR teams won't have much going on right now. It will be interesting to see if ML and NM keep coaching Bethesda teams next year but since the High Schoools run on different seasons it might be doable.

2011s are playing EDP as well as ECNL-RL so they have a spring season.

Will that be any competition for them? I can’t imagine an RL team wouldn’t win every game 10-0.
I know some Arlington RL teams played last year in the spring in NCSL and played a year up and still dominated.

The 2011's will be fine. A lot of RL teams play EDP to fill the void of games. They won't have any ECNL RL games in the Spring.

In looking at the published schedule, GFR is the only RL signed up.

Amen. Good riddance. I was dreading having to make the choice to take my daughter out of GFR because of him - she’s a ulittle and we are so happy with our coach and team now but assumed we’d end up with GD at some point and have to make a tough decision. Hopefully ML and NM continue to coach the older girls teams at GFR!!

+1000. Have been happy with all our coaches so far but had seen GD “coaching” girls during games and didn’t want that for our DD.

Interesting. Before my daughter reached the age GD will be coaching, she was the one deciding what kind of coach she wanted.

In our family, we protect our children from abusers and predators and con artists. You do you, though.

You let your 12 year old be coached by someone who was caught on camera berating his players and calling a referee a f*ggot? No thanks.
