Private & Independent Schools
It’s so unhealthy. My kids are at top privates but have had a very balanced fun teenage life! Parties, proms, sports, family vacations, and fun! How sad to live your entire existence for a goal and sadly lots of kids at Ivies are not happy! |
This exactly. So focused on all the wrong things in life. Many rich people turn themselves inside out trying to prove to themselves that they are somehow more special or worthy. When you see threads like this, more proof that most people can't handle having money and keeping their soul. |
Sure your child attends an “Ivy” and the other is at a “top private”. One can say whatever they want on an anonymous forum. After all no one here will ever know the truth about your kids but you felt you had to falsely state where they went to school lol. You are so “fortunate” which is why you resort to cheap comebacks and attack other posters only so you can feel good about your superficial status. Carry on with your “fortunate” life. |

Hearing lots of rejections - complete shut outs from our school - while friends’ kids at other schools are getting admitted to the same colleges (same gender so that is not different). These are ranked above 25.

You sound so angry and bitter about people’s lives that have nothing to do with you. That’s unfortunate. |
which school? are these kids completely shut out? As in they have no acceptances? |
Shut out as in not a single kid that applied was accepted to certain schools. |
ah. I get it. Were they competitive kids (3.8+?) |
How would I know?! I do not track other kids GPAs! Hopefully you don’t either?! |
Yet you track other kids rejections. |
Yes, why do you track rejections? Weird. |
Sidwell has at least 4 kids going to Harvard, 9 or 10 to U of Chicago, several admits to Brown, at least two going to Dartmouth, at least two admits to Stanford, at least 8 going to Penn, multiple admits to Duke and Columbia, at least two admits to CMU...been a much better year than the last few in terms of admissions |
|
Multiple Brown?
Duke?? |
At least 2 Stanford? Are you talking about Admits or Committed? |
one Stanford ed so is committed, at least one regular who has other good options two into duke but likely not going, one of the reasons duke usually does not sidwell kids, because yield so low as sidwell kids who get into duke also tend to get into ivies and they pick an ivy |
