I grew up on the Iron Range. The shift has been like West Virgina, although much less extreme, in the sense that the iron mining industry, which peaked in the 60s-70s was impacted by a lot of global changes, from oil prices (and big American cars) in the 70s to Brazilian steel imports in the 80s. That's the reason for the shift. |
| Wow the GOP are freaking out. |
| He doesn’t deliver a swing state |
They are! All they’re left with is Trump and Vance. |
Do you have examples of all this freaking out? |
The Trump team was saying that Minnesota was in play a few weeks ago. |
I think he delivers most of them. He has mass appeal. |
To the contrary Kamals played right into their hands by selecting a VP from a deep blue state |
| Kamala* |
Even a broken clock is right twice a day! |
So why did Trump choose JD Vance from the deep red state of Ohio? Or Trump choose Mike Pence from Indiana? Or Biden choose Kamala Harris from California? Actually, when was the last time someone from a swing state was chosen as the VP? While VP candidates can certainly be a burden (JD, Palin, Quayle), their upside potential is limited. |
also, MN isn't deep blue. https://www.270towin.com/states/Minnesota |
Even with Kaine, VA was close. |
