Malaysia Airlines Flight Goes Missing En Route to China

| I am about 20 pages behind, but has anyone floated this idea---that the pilot or other terrorist, after going high enough to kill all the passengers, did a water landing and was picked up by a boat and whisked away. The idea being that this was a dry run to test out a possible means of attack, next time with an airline that is harder to pull this off with? An intact landing would mean little debris... |

Let me guess. When they landed, the plane hijackers called the boat captain from their cellphones, to let them know they're ready to be picked up out in the middle of the Indian Ocean, right? |

There seems to be no new news today. I'm starting to just accept the fact we may never know or we not know for a very long time. I am checking the news and PPRUNE less-weaning myself off. My hear breaks for the families. |

I can't imagine that at almost 2 weeks out the plane or black box will ever be found. This will forever remain a mystery. God bless the families. |

I spoke too soon regarding no new news. It has been confirmed the plane was carrying highly flammable lithium batteries in it's cargo. Apparently this same type of battery has led to fires in other planes.

| If it turns out it was the batteries then basically we are all at risk flying until they ban transporting these batteries on commercial flights. Heck cell phones and lap tops have these batteries. Maybe someone's laptop exploded. |

The picture was taken on Tuesday. <sigh> There are over 1 billion people in China - can't they get a few thousand of them to look at these satellite pictures a little quicker? |

The Malaysians misheard the numbers on the phone - it's actually 22.5 meters by 13 meters (74 ft x 43 ft)
