I think ECNL has a much higher barrier to entry than NAL does in our area – that’s the gateway organization thAT give you access to MLS next one and two. In our area, Clubs getting MLS next or NAL run the gamut, including being all over the place in EDP The ECNL/rl clubs getting MLS next or NAL run the gamut, including being all over the place in EDP. The ECNL/RL club in our area is top of its group and EDP. |

For those keeping track - they removed the VA teams from the Carolinas division here - https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-next-new-competition-tier-teams-and-divisions-2025-26 -
A huge relief to all involved |
Figured that was an oversight since FC Richmond and VA Rush were listed in 2 divisions (for 3 months!), but nice to see it confirmed. Thanks for the heads up. |
| Does it mean Virginia tier2 will only play with Virginia teams? |
| Why is Achilles STILL not on this list? Is it not a complete list? |
Good question. There are only 8 teams in Virginia compared to the rest |
FVU players would leave for an MLSN2 team easy. They’re trash, check their standings |
The 10 Carolinas teams are playing each other 3x for a 27 game season. |
What a ripoff of a league. Playing each other 3 times… |
Surely only at U13 & 14, right? A couple of Carolinas clubs said on their website HS aged would have minimal games during HS season, so unless U15 and up aren't playing many events, I don't see how that's even possible. |
We got the same message, some games in the fall more in the spring, practice limits for kids in HS Maybe some low key tournaments in the fall and practices with home and away in the spring for HS. Would love to actually know! |
Depends on what part of the Country you are in. MLS2 (NAL) is certainly ahead of ECNL in the Northeast. |
Why is that a problem? |
Exactly. I would love to play a local evenly matched team every weekend if possible. |
Apparently the appalled person thinks development of kids only happens against different opponents 😂 |
